Great video! As an American I learned some British slang. Can I say this was a "brill" video? As Americans we don't say Uber nearly as much as we did before it became a taxi company. I almost never hear it as an adjective anymore. If I hear it now it is reference to taking a taxi/cab. I need to take a Uber. "Sick" is an old expression from the early 2000's. If I ever hear it now it is never from an adult - only a rebelling teenager. We Americans overuse the word Awesome. I am one of the worst at using this word too much, but nonetheless, this video is AWESOME!!

As an American we say nod off too. And I've been in here in the U.S my whole life. I never heard of crash out ever by anyone. And I'm 41yrs old. As far as drunk. We do say wasted. But we also say drunk. Pissed. We say pissed off too meaning someone is angry. Dis is used more among very young people like teenagers. But the older people say disrespect or talking trash. The uber meaning here is an uber ride like a taxi. We don't say uber unless we have it on our app on a phone and we're getting an uber ride. Other than that. We don't use the word Uber. We use the word amazing too. As far as ripped. We use ripped in quite a few definitions. As far as sick. It's used in a positive way among teenagers here. So, all your going by with that meaning is only among teenagers here. We don't say sick in a positive way. Sick means that your not feeling well or your about to throw up. Or I feel sick because I ate something bad. Once again, your making assumptions about us Americans that aren't true.

I love how your videos always have useful information, usually when I watch videos like this they always talk about the same differences we all know and although I speak British english I usually come across american tv shows or books, etc and it's always good to know american slang. Also, I think uber comes from the German word über which means above.

Since I'm an Indian and we followed British English since ages ,I love British English only ,we are more comfortable to use that even the spelling and the slangs,more over I believe British English is the refined one and also the beauty of English language is well defined in British English.I remember how politely my British teachers agree to disagree on the matters they got different opinions ,in a very subtle way without hurting the sentiments of the other person.,British English is the ultimate.

Inasmuch I used to learn German many years ago at my secondary school, the first association that came into my mind when it comes to the word 'uber' was the German one, i.e. 'über' which can be translated as 'via' or 'above'. Perhaps this similarity is a pure coincidence, or maybe not?

I'm American too. I heard of Jonesing for a cigarette. But as far as Uber or sick. She's way off base. I've only heard about the meaning Uber to get an Uber ride. But I never heard of Uber in the meaning that she assumes that we say it. And I've been in the United States since I've been born 41yrs ago. And in my 41yrs I never heard of some of what she's assuming about us. My home is Pa. Which is Pennsylvania to those who aren't American if you don't know what Pa means. But I've even visited the south. And not even there they don't speak the way she's assuming.
