So in America, the way you make those dirt cups is to get a small disposable cup, fill it most of the way full with chocolate pudding, sprinkle the “dirt” on top (oreo crumbs) and then stick the gummy worms into the pudding so it looks like they’re coming up from the ground. Sometimes they would give them to us at school. A major favorite childhood treat.

We used to make dirt & worms and serve it in a plastic pail with a little shovel for a scoop. The original Kinder eggs are still banned in the US. There's a rule in the food, drug, and cosmetics act of 1938 that says you can't have non-food items inside of food, unless they serve a functional purpose (like the stick on a lollipop), but it doesn't have anything to do with being a choking hazard. The law actually came about because of several incidents of poisonings due to negligence in drug manufacturing. Also, Kinder is owned by Ferrero Rocher. :)

Real Kinder Surprise Eggs (FAR superior to Kinder Joy) are still banned in the US, which is super annoying. Some British import shops used to get them for Easter, but then the FDA really cracked down about a decade ago. It doesn't really make sense though, because brands like Choco Treasure, and Yowie are allowed, and they have small toys inside plastic capsules inside a chocolate shell just like Kinder Surprise Eggs.
