Some things I really like, just to reiterate. - Modular: I have a tote for all my tools with a technician pouch that clips on and off. I’ve also used the hammer loop and drill holsters at times. - Versatile: the clips are amazing. They can be screwed somewhere for a permanent location like my cart, I always have one clipped onto a belt or harness, I have one with strong magnets that can be hung on anything metal, I zip tie one to a ladder/lift when I’m working at heights, and one just has a string looped through it so I can hang the pouch for the rare occasion I can’t find a place for a clip. The ability to have a clip anywhere and just clip my pouch on and off as I move about my day is invaluable. - Cost: for what you get, the cost is very reasonable. I’ve had my tech pouch for 5 years now and it’s held up great. I’ve worked for JWs who hate me not having every available tool right on me. I find it too tiring and cumbersome to have an apron or tool belt on me so this is a good compromise. I carry torpedo level, lineman’s, Knipex combo strippers, diagonals, small Knipex cobras, klein impact 11-in-1, demo screwdriver, tape measure, and electrical tape from the pouch that I can clip just about anywhere on the job. If I can’t get it done with that and my pockets, it’s worth a trip to the cart.

I'm confused. It's a great pouch for sure but you said the oxy telecom was the best, then the atlas46 was the best, now the toughbuilt is the best lol. I have the TB electricians pouch which is just the next size up I think. The pouch is certainly tough! Only prob is the boss attached to the pouch wears out if taking it on/off a lot. This allows the pouch to one off the clip. Otherwise this setup is much better than veto which I’ve owned in the past.

Thanks Bro for the consistent great videos! Very helpful content. For me one of the biggest game changers is using a 16ft tape measure instead of 25ft, I ve been in the trade for almost 3 years and I never needed the full 25ft, I saw my foreman and journeyman carrying 16ft tape measures, I decided to get one, and oh my god, it is soooo light it makes so much difference in weight! And I don't miss my 25ft tape 1 bit! (I still keep my old 25ft tape in my car though)

I’ve been using the clip on pouches with the toughbuilt belt for almost a year and the clips break often, always carry 2-3 extra clips, other than that issue they are solid. But I have had them break on the roof while installing solar and all my tools fell out, the clips are the weak point for sure

I have the backpack and it was huge, then switched to one pouch, then switched to a leather belt and 2 pouches and sucked cause I hated putting it on from stuff sliding and falling out. With the toughbilt I can put the belt on and pur the bags on there, and switch up pouches and positions; I was crawling in spaces all day by taking them off and setting them aside up in the spot, and then get out and put them back on for other work

There is no reason to have your tool pouch loaded to the max with every tool you own. If you can’t do it with a pair of pliers and a flat head then go to your tool bag to get what you need. I’m a commercial electrician and carry 4 tools in my pouch. Plus a knife, marker, pencil, tic tester, and tape in or on my pants. Carrying more than that will hurt your body in the long run. Just my 2cents, doesn’t mean I’m right.

Are you being paid to sponsor the pouch, it’s garbage. I’ve been doing electrical longer than you’ve been alive. The pouch is garbage, any pouch that doesn’t use a metal clip is garbage. The wera proprietary bit is ok but a Robertson bit is still better for screws that accept both Robertson and Phillips. That measuring tape is way too heavy and bulky. And you young apprentices or electricians, learn to love a good shoulder harness to carry around your tools, you’ll thank me when you 60. You need to get the weight off your hips.
@americanelectrician
@americanelectrician 8 ай бұрын
Not being paid at all. A Robertson is great but it doesn’t fit everywhere a Phillips does. You’ve got a lot of negativity about all of it. It works for me and a lot of people I know
@peterevans8194
@peterevans8194 7 ай бұрын
@Americanelectrician.....Personally I don't like the metal clips that just hook over your belt or trouser band, but that's just me. That said, I am also suspicious of plastic clips (especially in the extreme cold) as given time, it's usually a case of *when* they break not *if* they break... I am not sure what the answer is really, although the Molle system is certainly one possibility. I saw a co-worker using a Veto TB4 with a molle belt.. On the belt, he had clipped two small carabiners that were spaced a part appropriately, and he then used those to clip onto the two small suspension D rings on the TB4. The result was that he could clip the pouch on and off relatively quickly, but it would not be as slick in use as the Toughbuilt clips, although possibly more bomb proof...Edited to add I also totally agree about the use of shoulder harness/suspenders; they really are essential IMHO...
@marcelmed4574
@marcelmed4574 7 ай бұрын
Not sure what you mean, I'm specifically talking about screws in device boxes. Robertson is still the best fitting. ECX bits are second best, Phillips is a distant third. Once you've installed thousands of device boxes you'll see what I mean. ECX bits do not completely bottom out in the screw opening.@@americanelectrician

Pouch could probably last 3-5 years everyday use. The plastic clip is garbage in comparison. Be prepared to trash a perfectly good pouch within a year simply because the clip is broken. The need to manufacture a clip as tough as the pouch or provide the ability to order a new clip (the portion riveted to the pouch.)

@@keeganajar8370 I appreciate the effort, but I'm talking about the portion that's riveted to the pouch. Seems ridiculous not to sell a replacement for the portion riveted to the pouch, but something about patents blah blah.
