It's not an death sentence any more you can live an full life. The problem is they are worried that prep may not be the end all be all as HIV transmute. So they need an plan B just incase prep fails. That's why it's very important an cure happens. Yes I'm an aware prep has an 98% success rate someone who has undetectable levels. Is unlike to spread HIV but still has HIV inside of them. But HIV does transmute meaning prep or people who have undetectable levels may not be protected forever. As HIV is a virus that attacks defences.
