My understanding is lower budget ( less than $50M ) movies are not getting made because Hollywood financiers would rather fund a $200M blockbuster because they can make $500M or $1B like the MCU does. So we are going to be destined to watching super hero rehashes for a while until the pendulum swings back the other way. I don’t think Hollywood is scared of the content e.g. nudity, farce, language , coming of age stuff …basically it’s all about the Benjamins.
