Am I the only one wondering why people have ammunition in their travel bags?? I mean if there was also a gun i could understand but that's an even worse scenario!! But then again if you're traveling period (after Sept 11th changed the rules) it makes no sense to not make sure your bag is cleared out from the last trip. Especially if traveling outside of the US!

Don't use a range bag as a travel bag and this can never happen. And why would you have loose rounds rolling around in even the range bag? They belong in magazines or in boxes.

These individuals are being advised by legal counsel to claim it was a mistake otherwise, their penalty will be harsh. I perceive that the ammunition was planted in their luggage while in Turks and Caicos.

That’s what I was thinking cause that’s too much of a coincidence. Also, the security bag inspector told the American tourist guy to hold the bag of bullets in the plastic bag as they walked to a different part of the airport? Were they trying to get his fingerprints on the bag?

How DO you make a mistake of leaving ammunition in your bag? Ever since 9/11 terrorist attack, it's been stressed you don't carry any potential weapons, explosives,.etc on a plane.

It’s obvious they didn’t intentionally attempt to smuggle ammunition in. It was an accident, you can’t punish accidents. We need to write to our local representatives and demand the government get our people home. Especially since our security services failed to find and seize the ammunition on their outbound flights
