This country produces most of the world's coco and also has the best trees from which boats, yatch, planes companies, housing furnitures around the world are produced. They also discovered and started producing oil not long ago. I might not have to point all their resources but there is money in ivory coast . It's developing so fast that you have many Asians, Western, and Middle Eastern communities migration there.

Hey! Great question. Côte d'Ivoire's development comes from a mix of things. First, we’re the world’s number one cocoa producer, and we also export coffee, palm oil, and rubber, Cashew nuts, bringing in a lot of money. Then there are natural resources like oil, gas, and gold, which help too. Foreign investment, especially from countries like China and France, Nigeria, Lebanon, India has also boosted growth, along with government spending on big infrastructure projects. Political stability and economic reforms made the country more attractive to investors. Plus, the Ivorian diaspora contributes with remittances. All of this combined has helped Côte d'Ivoire grow so rapidly!

Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire (we don’t like the translation) are basically the same empire divided by the colonizers. We have the same tribes, cultures, names, clothing, danses, food etc. It hurts me to see how some Ghanaians or Ivorians are surprised to learn about the similarities. We share a damn border and hundreds of thousands of Ghanaians used to live in Côte d’Ivoire during their political struggles. Still we know nothing about each other. The French and the Brits did a terrific job dividing and conquering

Africa is not the french ghana. Most countries, if not all, in west africa have most of the same main crops or dietary elements such as cassava, plantains, yams, corn, and most of the vegetables. Yes, we do have the biggest church in the world built by our first president who passed away in 1993. I am actually going with some friends next year if you guys want to hop in

@@kazaam25 OMG, I’ve never said “AFRICA” is the French Ghana. Nor did I say Côte d’Ivoire is the French Ghana but it’s the country we share the most cultural similarities with. And nope most western African countries don’t have cassava, yam or plantain as a center piece of their cuisine. Coastal countries do. Countries like Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger or Senegal only incorporated these under the influence of coastal countries’s culture

But how do you ask about where the money comes from ? You didn’t listen ? they say they are the number one one seller of cacao in the world. 60% of the cacao of the world comes from that country + Ghana ( and Ghana is very small so Ivory Coast only can have 50). Do you imagine a tiny country providing the whole world with chocolate base? You where not paying attention my friends failed exams. It’s exactly like in middle east they are only rich because of oil.

The cost of $180 mil in 1980s was a shameful display of misallocation & mismanagement of funds, a primitive subservience to Catholic colonialism, an institution steeped in slave hunting, seizure of lands & treasures and the murder of 12 mil Congolese by Catholic Deacon Belgian King Leopold with the complicity of Pope Leo. China & India invested same amount in Engineering & Technology and have shielded themselves from oppressors.

Bro! I get your point and the first President never revealed the real construction cost. But what He rather said " This baselica costs the same as 4 alphajets (fighter jets)" And most of his fellow African Presidents went for the 2nd option at that time.

We are educated because that person you’re blaming has built schools and universities! China is developed not because they have invested money wisely just because the labour cost was so cheap and the country open up to capitalism very recently! Moreover China is developing because of Africa resources and short profits thinkers among western industrialists! Instead of blaming and repeating the same rhetoric about colonialism and dictatorship in Africa. People should adopt a more pragmatic approach by promoting industrialisation and sustainability. People should reinforce heritage and fraternity through common culture and history for the benefit of strong development of joint ventures. Life is a journey …Merci et on vous attend en Côte d’Ivoire

@@yoyodebaby9017 I didn't call your glorious Pres a despot, you did. Instead of undermining China, look deeper into what makes you stagnant. You are making excuses for a foolish investment to appease the Catholics to stay in power. Paul Biya does that appeasement to shield himself from leaving office. Cheap labor? That's what Western world craves but can't get. Are Chinese suffering? Big NO. China did in 35 yrs what took USA 150yrs. Nigerian Pastor, Oyedepo is building an Ark of Noah cost-estimated at $200 mil. The labor, materials and engineering are from China & India. Now, sycophants will flock in to ask God introduced to them by the Europeans & Catholics, to perform a miracle. How many factories for that $$? Dangote build a refinery that will save Nigeria 38% of foreign exchange spending on crude which killed the naira. My observation is warranted but you took it as a criticism b/c Africans want to defend their inept despots & colonial masters through hell & highwater. I'm an engineer and I devote time freelancing & teaching Africans who choose engineering programs, from software to hardware, networking to cloud & security. That Basilica is shameful, a disgrace and a hopeless abandoned cathedral in the desert. Now, write something sensible.
