Reading body language is very important part of the game. If you are good at it, you can have an idea of what the oponent is about to do. Maybe not a 100% accurate, but you'll be close and this makes defending easier. Ronaldinho was IMPOSSIBLE to read. The dude could literaly do whatever he wanted with the ball using ANY part of his body. A real nightmare to defend against.

The move you asked about is called an "elastico" (rubber band). Ronaldinho is not the best player of all time (although he's certainly a legend). But he is the most technically gifted player ever to lace up football boots. One v one, I take him over everyone. He had a reputation (exaggerated by his critics, IMO) for being undisciplined. Surely, he didn't have the drive and longevity of some other greats. So, it's fair to say it was a relative weakness of his game. But, for sheer skill and entertainment value, everyone else is taking a number behind him.

World Cup 2006 broke his career... he said that himself... the best team brasil ever had, played so bad, that there were weeks of street roumours... statue of Ronaldinho demolished... shame, hate and death threads for the whole team.
