That´s your chance to learn abut what flamenco is, what flamenco means, and how connected is with blues. Is as deep as the blues, but with different roots such Indian, arabian, European and also African. She has a degree in flamenco, as singer, and is also the composer and producer of her songs, her art work is full o symbols that are universal but develope from the Spanish ( from Spain, not latin America) culture. What she is trying to do is to reinforce the knowledge about flamenco , which was forgotten during the 40 years that Spain was closed by Franco the dictator making Spain, and all art produced in the country, invisible for the rest of the world while the British or French and other countries of the same area were seeing out there, but she is spreading now the flamenco , our national treasure and also intangible heritage of humanity all around by mixing it with other styles so making it easier for the ears not trained in such complicated but pure and ancestral sound, , and in her way she is creating an unique style and connecting with all cultures. my recommendation is to go ahead with her colaborations with Americains from North and South, because are made with that intention, to make it easier for people not introduced into flamenco, and after that first contact you can go to her third work, the album "Motomami". All her albums are conceptual so better listen the songs is order. I love Saoko. Then from that album jump to El mal querer, ("Malamente" is the first song) and once you feel it familiar, once your ears are a bit trained about the flamenco rithms jump to her first album called " Los Angeles" . After that you will be ready for the real flamenco of the great artists which she respect like Paco de Lucía, probably best guitar player all around the world of all times, and Camarón de la Isla, best flamenco singer not disputed by anyone. Will be a trip for you and those of your followers interested in something new and ancestral, both.
