There is something the President can do. In Australia our Prime Minister held an investigation ( Royal Commission ) into how the big supermarkets control prices and how the farmer gets his share of the sale. Since the investigation prices have come back slightly in Supermarkets aka equivalent of Walmart in America so there is something he can do if he has that power.

There are so many factors that the president has no control over that are responsible for rising food and gasoline prices. Opec sets gas prices based on how much they charge for a barrel of oil. America is pumping more oil than Saudi Arabia and it has little to no effect on gasoline prices in America. Corporations can charge whatever they want for meat, eggs etc. People also conveniently forget the Trump added 8 trillion dollars to the debt which definitely helped to fuel some of the current inflation.

Except Biden has been shutting down American oil across the country making us reliant on OPEC oil. If we were drilling our own oil we wouldn't have to rely on OPEC oil or their prices. You should really watch the congressional hearings. Doesn't matter if you're Republican/ Democrat or Independent. Doesn't matter if you're pro Biden or Trump. Its enlightening and jaw dropping. 12 yr olds could run our country better.

He very well could have stopped it and he chose not to. The first two stimulus were needed because of the pandemic the others were just uncalled for. Those are the facts. The gas stations have nothing to do with the price of gas
