It’s easy - one can just say aht - en - tah - tih with the soft G sound / without the throat clearing sound! Acht-en-tachtig is one of my favorite words!

Interesting video! Some constructive criticism if you want it: Maybe you could use a couple more words next time. I found myself losing interest after about 8 people trying the same word.

Thanks for watching. We did use many more words but they will come out in a part two. I do get what you are saying, I had that a but during editing as well. But I didn’t want to cut out any of the awesome people we met. They might have been disappointed otherwise. But for part two I will amp up the speed a bit more. Thanks for your feedback 😉🤩

afrikaans is so similar to dutch, i never knew the "g" sound was so difficult for other people😅

Yeah that is so true. Afrikaans and Dutch are super close. I think we can understand each other rather well. 😊🙌

My American friend learned it like this. 1: say orange. 2: say horange. 3: lose the -ge. 4: add 'geet' before that 5: geet-horan. Might seem strange but it worked for him! :)

Butchering...it is the one language that I can't emulate back to the speaker. "Hro-ni-gha"=Groningen. Dutch is hard. Spesh since I'm German-American, and all the G's are hard...
