I just came home from work, so f*** tired, I just grabed something to eat and went to the computer, and my first thought was - it would be amazing if King Boomer and Queen boomer had reacted to friday night dinner. Bought the DVD Box Set of Friday Night Dinner during covid lockdown a few years ago. Friends and I have a Friday night DVD film night usually Fridays, and we still start off with a few episodes of Friday Night Dinner before a main movie. BTW when Jim offers a pineapple and says it's "pudding", this is something that I notice comes up on a lot of "Americans react" clips with UK shows: In England particularly, dessert is often called "pudding". Oddly the two terms are synonymous, "pudding" is an entire course of dinner in England. We in Ireland also find this strange, as here "pudding" is a very specific type of dish :)

There's a very quirky comedy called Green Wing set in a hospital and Mark Heap (who plays Jim) plays the role of a hilariously pompous and uptight radiographer. I think you'd both love Green Wing- it's unique in style, with some amazingly weird characters played by a stellar cast.

Weevils are absolutely real, although you are more likely to find them in your 18th century ships bread/biscuit supply than all over an uncooked fish. "... didn't you know, one must always choose the lesser of 2 weevils."

any small beetles at the time were called 'weevils' and all large ones 'cockroaches'. The basic pest found in ships biscuit is incorrectly termed the 'weevil'. In fact it is not a true weevil but a relative of woodworm called the 'Bread Beetle' - Stegobium paniceum.
