Yeah UK to Paris is about 1-1.5 hours depending on where you're flying from. Used to be you could get return flights to amsterdam for about £60 the flight was about 40 mins. You used to be able to see quite a few amazing European cities for basically peanuts if you live in the UK.

Not sure if you picked up on it at one point Martin called the boys "berks". This is an acceptable word in everyday usage in the UK but it is a substitute for the c-word. What wikipedia says: The Old Berkeley Hunt developed a large following among the prosperous London middle classes: The slang term "berk" is a contraction of "Berkeley Hunt", which in turn refers to the English vulgarity "c*nt" (the usage is dated to the 1930s). It is an example of Cockney rhyming slang.

People over here say "Most Americans don't even have a passport..." But your country is a large chunk of a CONTINENT. You can have a week at a real beach in real sunshine, then a week's skiing, a nice week's trekking in REAL wild country, all topped off with a short break in either one of two of the most culturally significant and world-influencing cities on the planet. All without leaving your borders or struggling with the language. Who the heck needs a passport?
