Many recent cases in UK where kids have ended up dead just by fighting back against a bully in school only for their older bigger friends to set upon them outside of school. Just not worth the risk.

No it isn't, miles are of ancient Roman origin. The whole of Europe was using imperial of different standards as the American states formed. The measurements they use in the USA do not even match what England or Scotland used. The UK just hasn't finished what it started when every other country on Earth managed changing to a SI system perfectly fine. In fact actually the USA legally allows states to use kilometres on road signs and some actually did nearing the borders of Mexico until they realised every other state was being lazy and sticking to the Romand system and so reversed it. To be clear, the US system is nothing to do with the UK, its of Roman origin and is a mix of all sorts from Europe. "We think na on the lang Scots miles..."

I think a joke that people sometimes miss in the scene with Jay's dad in the bathroom is that he's standing there being merciless about the girl's... larger physique... while his own beer gut is on full display. We're not meant to like him. He's meant to serve as a kind of window into Jay's own personality and behaviour. He's also meant to be an extreme interpretation of how many in Britain, at least at that time, showed affection through banter.

We actually use Miles Per Hour for cars. It was his dad that said he wasnt to go over 50mph. Yes the highway speed is 70, but its the kids first car, so his dad just said "no you cant go faster than this". I've seen similar things said on american tv shows as well "Dad got me this sweet car! but he told me i wasnt go to more than 40mph in case i crash" Queen boomer calling Neil a Golden retriever, isnt that far from the truth.. In the movie he says to Will "If ever im feeling down i just remember that God is just Dog backwards and it cheers me up" He is a very simplistic (some would say dumb) happy go lucky guy, too stupid to let things bother him much, he just doesnt understand it should get him down. Which i guess is a really good way acting in life. And yes Queen boomer, King is right. At THAT age all boys would rather it was just offered on a plate to them, so they didn't have to be all embarressed about talking to girls and trying to chat them up. It's easier for us now we are older (for some anyway) but at that age, naah boys 100% would prefer it if a girl just came up to you and said "Kiss me, then we are gonna go do it" And you should be aware that because of what you said, if you meet any subscribers while out and about, they are gonna be like "Green, Alabama, world peace, having a big family, spiders! ok now we can have sex!"

We also buy most liquids in litres, unless it's beer or milk, and then that is in pints! 🤣Most weight is in kilograms, unless it's people and that is most commonly in stone and lbs. Shorter measurements are usually in metric unless it's your height, which again will most commonly be in feet and inches. Younger people are probably more inclined to use metric before imperial, but as a nation its the other way round. Best of both worlds!
