17:52 actually in 2014 festa RM said originally all of the members were supposed to show their abs meaning they were on a strict diet plan and had to constantly be in shape but randomly the dance choreographer just said jimin was the only one who had to do it and Jimin hated it and often told the other members he didnt want to show his abs even often cried about it but he also said after the crowd started loving to jimin he started to like it. Jimin has always been very open and candid about not liking his past self and I think for the no more dream era especially it mainly stemed from him having to constantly to work out and feel as if he loses the abs nobody would love him which I think is ridiculous because jimin was the main reason I even became an army and I love him for who he is and so do a lot of people abs or not hes still an amazing person.

12:20 i think it defnitely has to do with bts' whole concept back then, i mean bts literally stands for bulletproof boyscouts so yeah their original thing was being really powerful, coordinated, and "punchy." it also varies by song, danger is the type of song that calls for that type of choreo and a majority of their songs back then also did. they had a very tough guy thing going for them up until 2015 when they started to branch off a little. fun fact their logo used to be a bulletproof vest lol

Speaking on the lack on individual parts in choreography it more than likely had to do with the fact that the member weren't as good dancers as they are now, so their choreographer used their strenghts. The main people who had individual parts were: 3J (J-Hope, Jimin, JK) and a little bit of V because he was working up to dance line. However I think it is opinionated because I think they were all decent in terms of being in the center, especially Suga whom I feel is highly underrated on the topic of dance.

Trainees can leave the company if they aren't able to debut....but yes they often become backup dancers and company also offers them different jobs at the company like managers, makeup artist ,extras etc. Trainees ( mostly main dancers) are also recruited as backup dancers for idols to get experience ( j hope, Jimin and jungook were backup dancers for old bighit artist and Lee know was backup dancer for BTS is now a member of group stray kids. many actors in BTS short films and reels are now in famous groups).

17:52 You got it girl He really was ASKED to show his abs even though he was quite uncomfortable doing it. He had to go through an extremely strict diet. He never had any intentions on losing his weight (atleast that's what I think) but seeing the enthusiasm of fans and the persuasions of management, he decided to grow more skinnier. In even more beginning days of his and BTS's career, he mentioned that he once used to have ONLY A SINGLE MEAL in 10 DAYS to make him slim. Thank God that's not the case with the kpop idols anymore and they are given freedom to maintain their bodies the way they like. No matter how much Jimin laughs it off about his diet thing, it won't change the fact that even today he sometimes gets insecure about himself and gives so much importance to workouts

from what i know one trainee is a producer at the company, one is a normal goverment worker, some continued to do music on their own at other places, but to be fair since there were like 30 trainees in three years we do not even know all of them

12:20 in that time the industry ware a little different, BTS has some inspirations in groups from that time, mainly in visual concept like colors for exemple, about dance they ware much more into hip-hop and crazy acrobatic moves than the other groups normally did.... I think probably because they don't have the same burger to impress people with other things so they had to work really hard. Edit: nowadays we use to say it become like bighit stile of dance this intense moves that looks almost like a fight or they are trying to broke a leg 😅

I love this version of 21st Century Girl. They're all wearing costumes except Jungkook who just hasn't changed out of his bunny skin as he usually does when he comes to work, LOL. Jin's costume is hilarious. It shows how young you are that you didn't recognise that Jimin was dressed as Charlie Chaplin. Jin was using his degree in acting to be a great drunk here. Tyhe great thing about dance practices is you can hear their feet and they are all hitting the floor at exactly the same time they are so accurate. The original concept was for them to be a hip hop group but Bang PD realised that they could do more much to the relief of Jimin and Jin who just weren't comfortable trying to fit into that concept. Jimin was encouraged to develop his muscles but JK who really wanted to work out was supposed to be a young boy so he wasn't supposed to develop his muscles. Jimin had great shoulders then and has them again now. He was embarrassed to show his abs but when he heard the reaction of the audience he was happy to show them. They don't do as many dances at concerts these days. They need oxygen when they come off stage when they go hard. Poor JK once collapsed backstage because he had overdone it. They tend not to do the whole song in dance now and intersperse the time they are on stage with prerecorded videos so they can catch their breath and change into different clothes.

Since they were a group from a small company the chances of standing out were small, so they had very complex and difficult choreographies, they were one from the "third generation" groups with the most complex choreographies. Many kpopies (it's a term that Army uses to refer to kpop stans) made fun of them for coming from a small company, but that's what made them work harder, have more creative freedom and be more humble. They didn’t have a silver spoon, their success was organic and due to the genuine interest of people in their talent 👌 Also I don't think their choreographies became less difficult over the years, some of the most difficult choreographies are Dionysus (2019) and ON (2020), even Run BTS (2022) is quite difficult and involves a lot of movements with the feet and upper body

Actually their earlier choreographies are easier than their more recent ones. But I think they look more impressive because the individual moves are highlighted and are easier to pick up on from just watching. Same with the formation changes - the process of going from one formation to the other isn’t as fluid as in the newer ones so it seems more intentional and is easier to notice it. That’s not to say that the older choreos are easy, because they are most definitely not lol

okay the Jimin abs story is that mr son, their choreographer, just decided that will be a move and JM had to do it cause other members abs weren't - eh - ready. baby jiminie, belive it or not, was very shy and insecure about this, he even went to RM to confide in him, RM did his thing, told him not to worry etc but then, when JM came back from stage after the first No More Dream, the man was completely changed and suddenly he started flashing his abs even at random moments in private and he couldn't wait to turn the sexy on on stage and RM realized they created a monster. they talked about this in one of their early SUGA FM year end shows

Not saying they haven't improved but if you listen to the lyrics and the look at the chores you will see a lot of the jerks and movements fit the song in a way they wouldn't in a song like Blood Sweat and Tears.
