The great ones of history, Edith Piaf in Non Je ne regrette rien,, I don't regret anything ! She was a Paris street urchin as a child and sang for pennies and rose to the top. Called " The little sparrow" people talk about their hair standing on end listening to her, Maria Callas singing live in concert Hamburg March 16, 1962 ... For a fun side of Dimash try Opera 2. It is stunning and so too is his stage presence. The composer/primary performer put a legal block on Dimash performing this as it was just so good (I assume). So this was a one time performance which the audience loved.

The flute called Sybyzgy - made of reeds or wood 50-70 cm with 3-7 holes, which is particularly common in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The instrument was particularly popular with shepherds and was used by storytellers. They went across the country and told stories and legends in chants and with music (Kui). There are many legends and traditions associated with sybyzgy. In these legends the instrument is called a "living reed", because this strong, hollow stem, makes amazingly deep sounds. The whole life of Kazakhs is imbued with music, it sounds in ceremonies and rituals, in everyday life and at holidays. Listening to the sounds of dombra, kobyz or sybyzgy, one can understand the history and culture of the Kazakh people. It was easy and fast to make a sybyzgy, but it was very difficult to play it. Sybyzgy kuis (Kui: sung stories) were most two-voice melodies: the first voice came from the instrument and the second voice was the throat singing of the musician-performer.(www)
