@@asherandai1000 No, we're just more sensible today. As a child at this time, some of these were genuinely disturbing for me and there's really no surprise why that would be the case. I grew up on cartoons, and here's a cartoon character literally grating themselves away while screaming manically. I'm not trying to morally judge anyone who remembers these ads fondly. I've had a laugh seeing them again myself. But there's good reasons why we don't specifically show this stuff to kids anymore.

@@benjones3466 if you grew up on cartoons at the same time these ads were on, then the cartoons you grew up on had characters blowing themselves up and leaving behind just their eyeballs, being flattened into pancakes on a regular basis, being sliced into multiple pieces and putting themselves back together, and much much more. And that’s just Tom & Jerry. Didn’t even get into Road Runner, Bugs Bunny, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and so much more. And we still show those cartoons to kids. Adrian Edmonson is as off the wall as the adds. - Don't forget the "Weetabix" adds forthe odd chuckle! 1992 King Kong was priceless.

The crazy intense adverts you've seen for various products are mostly from the mid to late 90's which was peak UK television in terms of boundary-pushing. The later the show (or advert or whatever) was aired, the more extreme it could be, with very little boundaries at all for Channel 4. Some truly amazing things were broadcast on the TV in that era. All that being said, you've got to admire whoever came up with the double-meaning catchphrase "it's a bit of an animal". It's good stuff.

Ask anyone of a certain age to react to these "a finger of fudge, the milky bar kid or milk tray"
