That first huntsman spider was a cute little one. I'm happy to relocate small ones like that with my bare hands. Although in our home we let them stay if they like. My only concern for them is that when our cat gets his regular flea and tick treatment, those chemicals could harm the spiders, so they get gently removed from the house before that. A note to people who like to keep pet spiders, but also have a cat. Your cat's flea treatment may well kill your spider friend.

Hi guys, I also remember a incident with a south eastern Queensland tarantula which, I had never been introduced to in Oz, leg span of a large dinner plate which got sprayed by me with some fly spray before I realised what and how big it was as it was curled up in a hole. Everyone here knows the bird eating spider is the biggest, but this had the biggest abdomin spider they could be. The following year went to UK’s London Zoo (third visit) and got up close to the normal James Bond size tarantula 1/2 the size, only to interview the keeper to find out after thirty years in the job he did not know how to treat a bite from this creature less than a metre away. i.e. basic first aid training back in Oz.

Other than plastic boxes and container containers for storage, the only thing they don't eat or try to eat is steel wool, stuffed into every nook and cranny in and around the house. Even the smallest cracks they get in, air conditioning vents through the ceiling. Waste of time using that foam people use to plug holes, they eat through that as well. Huntsman spiders won’t hurt you. They aren’t small or elusive. Trust me you’ll know exactly where it is. 😂

9:37 there have been cases where people hit a kangaroo and it comes through the windscreen scratching and biting killing the driver. Hitting roos is very dangerous. Years ago a lady came in when I was working on VW's. She hit a roo with her beetle. She had a cracked windscreen and grass and shit over the roof. She said I think I got him. The beetle is just the right shape for a roo strike. They just roll off.

Hey guys, if you’re near any bush, snakes and spiders are a daily, generally bigger away from the cities. And it’s usually tourists that die from crocs because we are aware of the danger. But loads of whitetail spiders that are super fkn bad! I have a mate whose a drummer and was bitten by one in September, years ago, on his calf and it was purple for weeks, but every year for about 5/6 years it would flair up again. Love the videos

5:59 in Summer you can see where peoples shoes have melted to the concrete at the servo. Don't go anywhere in Summer without shoes. Even fishing early morning. Carry some pluggers so you can get back over the sand in the morning.

I had the dog with me one time so I kept him in the wet sand with me until we had a straight run to the park and green grass. Must have been 100m I said go boy and it was full running no stops, your feet would be burnt.

The spider, HARMLESS, even friendly (everyone had a pet Huntsman/Wolf spider in their house). The Tiger Snake, probably 2nd most venomous snake in the world. You do NOT pick them up or go near them, they will attack (hence the name).. and yes Death Valley is hot, but that frypan's just been in the Sun next to his pool, in his back yard..

Tiger snakes are docile unless provoked. Their name comes from the stripy skin which some of them exhibit. Seen plenty of tiger snakes in Tas.

That's a huntsman! Venomous, yes, but not dangerous to humans because of the small size of it's fangs. One layer of cloth will protect you. Grab it in a tee towel and release it 50 metres from the house. You know you have a big one when you can HEAR it running away from you. True! However, that trouser snake is a real cause for concern. How he got away with that move is beyond me.

My mate was out walking his dog at night in summer in South Australia. There was a huntsman spider on the concrete path just ahead of him the street light made the shadow of the spider look horrifying. Then the dog jumped at the spider and the huntsman seemed to disappear but what my mate had not noticed was that it had landed on his foot. Just has he started to walk again the spider ran up the inside of his trouser leg. He must of looked like a German doing a dance at schutzenfest slapping his knees until the slightly shell shocked spider came staggering out and ran off. The huntsman spider is quite harmless they are not poisonous but they can bite. There is a really large spider in Queensland called the bird eating spider and it is the size of a bread and butter plate but luckily it only lives in rain forests.

Guys, the bloke that was spearing Barramundi and then found the Saltwater croc, his name is Andrew Ucles and you have to see his stuff. He catches rabbits with using deadly snakes he caught, uses the carcass of an emu to disguise himself and hand catch kangaroos, blokes an absolute nutter.

6:59 I was cast netting bait balls deep in mud on dusk in the river. I looked over and saw a goanna coming out of the water and walking in the mud. In the dark and at the distance I could not judge the size but I said to my brother "lets get out of here I don't know goannas to come out of the water"

The huntsman spiders are everywhere, harmless buggers but good for a laugh when people freak out, growing up on the farm they would be inside all the time, dad being a real bushy would get them to run up his arm off the wall stop them at his shoulder and get them to go back down to the back of his hand and sit back at the kitchen table patting it like a pet for a while before putting it outside and yes it would make all our skin crawl just watching him do it no matter how much we got used to it 😳😂👍

That's the problem with driving at night and Kangaroos. They're like oversized moths and will literally head towards the car headlights. And you can't be fooled by them stopping on the side of the road and seemingly waiting for you to drive past as they'll wait till you can't avoid them and then jump right in front of your car. And that's why we have roo bars.
@karenstrong88872 жыл бұрын
I can hug a snake but no spiders! Huntsman get way bigger, they jump. They bite but they don’t kill you. That car one happened to me but the spider was the size of my hand. I was in 4 lanes of traffic when I saw it climbing up my steering wheel and it bothered me that it had been down with my feet. It sat in the middle of my wheel and looked at me. I didn’t pull over, I just stopped my car, opened the door and ran away. I forgot my daughter and her new baby were in the car. I made my husband go and trade the car in for a new one. 👀

A tiger snake one bite and your gone!! He was pretty calm only way to do it tear that bandaid off lol Best way to do it with a snake on you!. That spider is a huntsman and eats other bugs and nasty spiders we dont mind having them in our house. Always check your shoes in Australia always! Don't leave them outside for too long either lol Also don't go swimming in nice little billabongs or you might be taken by a croc!
@brettevill90552 жыл бұрын
Don't do that to a snake in Australia, Miles. It would kill you. A spider like the one in the first clip moved into my bedroom the day before yesterday, and when I was making my bed yesterday it dropped from the ceiling onto the bedclothes with a distinctly-audible "pat" sound. I have put a jam-jar and an index card out on my bedside table ready to evict the thing when it next ventures into the open. They are harmless, really. The only way huntsman spiders ever cause human death is when drivers freak out while driving over a spider in the car.

sorry guys i dont like spiders either but that one was tiny compared to some i have had in my house. the big spinderly ones nothing to worry about. its the thick bodied tarantula looking types that will do you damage. well those and some smaller ones but those i would just splat with my hand if i had too. big is the size of my two hands put together with my fingers spread. used to sleep in a shed at a friends place for awhile with 4 that size on the ceiling each night. one fell on my face while i was sleeping it weighed enough to wake me up and i could feel it running over my blanket to get away. again big but harmless.

yeah where i live in Caboolture, QLD is a couple hours drive south of 'Croc Country' but we've got pretty much everything else, i have conversations with Eastern Browns, and Redbelly's on the footpath and long grass my walk into work, in 5 years i've only had 2 have a go at me, one got a fang stuck in my shoelaces and i must have looked like Bruce Lee to all the passing cars 🤣 i go kayaking fishing and always get checked out by Bull Sharks every time without fail, ones under 5 feet dont even phase me anymore, 12ft+Tiger Sharks get the heart rate going that's for sure, and in winter we get juvenile Great Whites close inshore. Kangaroos everywhere, goannas, cockroaches everywhere and spiders as big as your hand 😳 Still, no place i'd rather be 🍻

@anniej61912 жыл бұрын
Some of those spiders looked like huntsmen, some looked like wolf spiders. Makes you jump when one emerges from under the sun visor, but harmless. I love it when a huntsman moves into my house - they keep the flies and other bugs down. Daddy long legs are great too - they eat the redbacks (yay!). Now if we just had a natural predator for the brown snakes we'd be laughing.

I had a huntsman in my car. Just got in, driving in Melbourne CBD traffic. I stopped the car, threw on the handbrake and jumped out, while peak hour traffic was banking up behind me.. A guy walks past and says Spider in the car ladies? 🤣😅 My mate cut its legs off trying to catch it and ended up killing it. ☺️

Did you know they can grow their legs back? A woman once came across a huntsmen that only had one leg left (possibly after a run-in with a wasp, which inject them with a toxin that paralyses them for a time, then snip off their legs and lay their eggs inside their still-living body), anyway, the woman ended up hand-feeding this huntsman with tweezers and bugs (flies I think?) until it eventually grew its legs back. :D
