Fun Fact: Texas was once known as Nueva Filipinas or Nuevo Renio de Filipinas, named after the Filipinas in Asia.
@Mhike1773 жыл бұрын
Spain discovered Philippines before they did Mexico or the Americas, for years bringing Filipinos on the lands. So if they say Philippines is the Mexico of Asia, they are wrong. Mexico is the Philippines of the Americas. Filipinos are just more resilient with keeping their language which is why Spanish didn’t remain as the National language like Mexico did.

✌️😅🇵🇭 Sorry for this is definitely a long comment. In the Philippines, we Filipinos, especially nowadays with our new curriculum and educational system since 2012, at least learn first about the values of respect, kindness, compassion, care, and empathy, among others, for other people, and also things like differences, similarities, uniqueness, diversity, variety, harmony, unity, community and sense of community, socialization and making friends, cooperation, teamwork, camaraderie, and the like as early as in Kindergarten or Pre-school, and then we begin to get more specific about the existence of various other religions, beliefs, and belief systems aside from one's own as early as in elementary or grade school, and that we need and should learn to have and show or demonstrate respect, empathy, appreciation, and understanding to other people, and their faiths, their beliefs, their cultures, their backgrounds, their ideas and opinions, their perspectives or points-of-view, their rituals, their kind or form of worship, their creeds, and their places of worship, as well as the having, sharing, and showing or demonstrating general values and virtues, especially those which are uniquely Filipino, amidst the diversity, variety, uniqueness, and differences of the people, ethnicities, and communities of the Philippines. We generally learn about Roman Catholicism, some other forms of Christianity like Protestantism among others, and Sunni Islam. We learn these stuffs mainly in our Values/Character Education and Social Studies school subjects aside from also being integrated in language arts subjects like Mother Tongue, Filipino, and English language and literature school subjects. In high school or secondary school, first specifically in lower secondary school or junior high school, we begin to learn a little bit more not just about Christianity and Islam in the Philippines but also some of the other main or major religions, beliefs, belief systems, worldviews, faiths, and philosophies of or from around Asia and the world like Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Sikhism, Jainism, Taoism/Daoism, among others, and other forms of Christianity and Islam like Shia Islam and Orthodox or Eastern Orthodox Christianity. We just learn some and general introduction or overview things about these. These are taught and/or are integrated in our Values/Character Education, Social Studies, Filipino language and literature, and English language and literature school subjects. In upper secondary school or senior high school, we do not learn much anymore about these things, but we learn again general stuffs about religions, beliefs, belief systems, and woeldviews as a part of one of our one semester Social Sciences core course subject, unless you are an Academic Track - Humanities and Social Sciences specialization studentwhose going to learn, in a one semester specialization coure, more things about religions, beliefs, belief systems, and worldviews, and then more specifically about Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Theravada Buddhism, Mahayana Buddhism, Confucianism, Shintoism, and Taoism/Daoism, which are the main or major world religions. We do not and cannot study or learn all or everything about and of religions, beliefs, belief systems, and worldviews around the world nor even just in the Philippines alone, especially the more and other specific and small sects, branches, denominations, and cults, but we try to at least learn and study something or a little bit about the general, overview, or introduction of each of the major or main religions in the Philippines and and then in Asia and around the world. Religious Education in the Philippines isn't perfect nor even that much comprehensive, but it's pretty decent and good, and then its just up to the learner or student to extend his or her learning or studies such as to learn more or in breadth or to learn more about the specifics or in depth. There are also some public schools (pre-school, elementary or grade school, or even up to junior or up to senior secondary or high school) that allows or allots Religion Classes for Roman Catholic Cathechisms that is open for the majority of Roman Catholic Christian students or learners around the country given by local cathechists of their local and/or community Roman Catholic Christian parishes, apostolic vicariates, prelatures, suffragan dioceses, or metropolitan archdioceses, but is also open for other students or learners to attend, sit in, or listen to. Beyond that, there are also various religious schools in the Philippines, mostly private schools, colleges, universities, and other schools and higher educational institutions, such as Roman Catholic Christian schools and other non-Roman Catholic Christian schools, that includes or integrates Christian and Christianity-related lessons in their school curricula, which are usually, typically, or commonly mandatory or compulsory, and some are voluntary or are offered or served as school electives that Roman Catholic Christian students or learners can choose to take or not. There are also public and private Islamic schools in the Philippines (pre-school, or elementary or grade school, and even up to junior or up to senior high or secondary school) that at least includes or integrates Arabic Language and Islamic Values lessons in their school curricula, or are full-pledged madrasahs that includes or integrates more Arabic Language, Islamic Values, and lessons about Sunni Islam. There are also private Chinese schools in the Philippines, but they usually, typically, or commonly include or integrate Chinese language/s and/or dialect/s, Chinese traditions and culture, Chinese writing and literature, Chinese calligraphy, and Chinese history on their school curricula rather or more than about Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism/Daoism, Chinese folk religion/s, Chinese shamanism or Wuism, Chinese syncretic religion/s, and/or other Chinese religions of or from Mainland China and in the Philippines.

There is a way to teach religion in schools. Like the way, we do in the Philippines. Teach all the things that are common and every religion like good values and respect each other's religion and when it comes to praying, whichever one is leading will lead to pray on how he/she knows, and the other religions will just pray on their own way silently. Which the USA obviously failed every time. Everyone is crying for equality but everyone wants special treatment.

So some foreign KZbinrs and “woke” Filipinos decided the only way to properly feature the Philippines in your videos is if you’ve been there somehow or have the intention of helping the country for some reason. Perhaps this is a cultural heritage of the Filipinos. the Philippines as a Catholic country that has been exposed to two cultures, America and Spain, the Filipinos are very respectful of other beliefs and religions. In public schools and private schools starting from elementary school to college, the subject of religion is part of the school system. For example, before the lesson begins in a class, the whole classroom will pray. And those students who are not Catholic are not force to pray in the Catholic way. They can pray the way they pray according to their habits. There are Schools in the Philippines exclusively for Catholics only. Just an FYI, That is why the Mormon Missionaries want to go on a mission in the Philippines because the minds of Filipinos are open to other faiths. That is why many Mormon Missionaries have more converts because the minds of the Filipinos are so open. In the Philippines, there are many other religions, but the good thing is that everyone has respect for other religions.

we only study major religions mainly Asian religions. we study the major ones and we study the origin and beliefs of those religions its also a way for us to be aware of those religions. edit: AND IM ACTUALLY NOT SURE ABOUT PUBLIC SCHOOLS AS I AM FROM A CATHOLIC PRIVATE SCHOOL BUT WE STILL STUDY LIKE ISLAM.

The US Flag Code allows flying the flag upside down to show distress. The Philippine Flag Code specifically orders the flag to be flown with the red side up in wartime because that was the way it was flown during the Philippine War of Independence against Spain (Philippine Flag Day: 28-May-1898, the Battle of Alapan), the Philippine-American War (1898-1981), and World War II (1941-1945).
