Other reaction videos leave the epic music on and don't get blocked ... The drone footage is much more impressive with the music. -- Most people agree on the fact that the Hamburger was invented here where I live, in Hamburg, Germany. It came up as a quick snack to serve the emigrants (to America) waiting to board the ships in the port. Later, the Hamburger became popular all over the city. The correct and full name is "Hamburger Rundstück", literally "bread roll, Hamburg style". It was much different from what is a Hamburger today (That evolved in the US!). The original Hamburger is a German wheat bread roll, crispy crust, cut in half and then a flattened fried meat ball goes in between the two halfs, together with a dash of savory brown gravy. A few restaurants still serve this here, and it's delicious. I should make a video about it.

naaaaah bro fr? I haven't seen the video with the hamburger /Hamburg Joke, but what ever comments my fellow germans put under that video, pls don't take that sht personal and keep saying what you wanna say. You know how the Internet can be... all those trolls come out of the branches and start whining. Don't give them any attantion :) There are enough germans, as special the younger generation, who can take a joke.

Germany has a right of free roaming. Which means, you can walk through every forest you're fancy of. Doesn't matter if private owned or not. There's only a few things you should taking care of and watch out for. Like when there's wood works going on or hunting season. Btw. there are wildlife protection parks where you can see and sometimes feed regional animals.

Gdansk was a German City till 1945, named Danzig. As in many Cities, that were almost completely destroyed during the war, the people rebuild their old Buildings

Most churches and castles are there for hundreds of years. Some were build for hundreds of years like the cologne cathedral. Nearly none were build after the wars

@AP-RSI19 күн бұрын
With a few small restrictions. Depending on the federal state, you are not allowed to stay overnight in national parks and in some cases you are not allowed to hike at night. And you are generally not allowed to leave the paths.
@fenrisulfur8429 күн бұрын
Hey there! Hiking is not a problem in Germany, the trails are very well marked, and there are generally short tracks if its too long. There are also Shops at some Points for Tourists and Hikers, and its not unusual to cross a villages. So go for a local Restaurant on your way. But dont underestimate the distances! Many trails are away from any streets or housings, and help may will need a lot of time to find you! Unfortunately we have a massive lack of Arctodus and other Bears since the Pleistocene, but we managed to restock our Wolf Population during the last years to a decent number! In case thats not enough, just ask one of our lokal Werewolves. Not like the english Colonies, we never burned our hairy fellows since 1692. Enjoy your Trip! 🐺

On the subject of hamburgers, it was invented by a hamburger, which didn't go down well in Germany or Hamburg at first. That's why the hamburger went to America and there it became a status food at McDonald's. Then it came back and was eaten by good citizens in Germany and Hamburg.

after the fall of the classic Roman Empire (mostly due to the Huns and Germanic tribes which invaded most parts of Europe and created new kingdoms, states) Germany was part of the Germanic Frankish Empire, the biggest empire. This got split in three parts. The Western part became the Kingdom of France (later France) which is why France has like England (and 'Anglo Saxons') a Germanic name. The Eastern Frankish part and most of the Middle Frankish part became then the Holy Roman Empire, the next most powerful Empire in Europe (most of the time). It had basically most neighboring countries or regions integrated and also Northern Italy, Rome/Papal states. This connection to Rome made the Empire 'Holy', because the pope (which was at first setup by the HRE emperors) crowned the kings which means they became emperors. Important: they have seen themself as the continuation of the classic Roman Empire (which could not die, because after Daniels 4 empire theory from the bible (1. Babylon 2. Persia 3. Greek and 4. Roman Empire) comes the apocalypse. Now, there was no apocalypse which means the last empire, the Roman Empire, has still to exist (ther was also another kind of Roman Empire in the East, Byzantinium/Konstantinopel - which became over time weaker and weaker till it resolved due to the Turks/Ottomans). The Holy Roman Empire was the most fragmented empire in the world which also means you had masses of dukes, kingdoms, cities of all kind of status quo, city alliances, residential cities, microstates and so on and every higher nobility wanted castles (later palaces etc.). Thats why you have most castles in Europe (also most cities etc.) and if one counts all the castles (e.g. Marlabog/Marienburg, the biggest of the world, now in Poland) which were created by Germans then its even much more. Anyway: in difference to what most believe, most mediebal castles and buildings were not destroyed by WW2 but already back then (just like today) people updated their homes to newer standards, also destroyed or reconstructed castles all the time. Thats in general the main reason why you have much less castles in Europe as were created once, already before WW2. Of course also older wars destroyed castles and stuff as well. What many also dont know is that because Germany (and most surroundings already before the world wars) became much more wealthy more could afford to build newer buildings while in the poorer parts of Europe they often could not which is why they often have more old/cheap buildings. After castle building at first 'fortresses' became a thing. Castles could not defend against canons etc. which is why also many were abandoned (and depending on the region) often used as resources for other buildings. later in more modern times palaces were built ... Germany has mostly a lot of old stuff despite the war and the in old times changes because it had so many of them - thanks to the Holy Roman Empire and its fragmentation. Germany also has still most of the tallest churches in the world (the old ones were btw. mostly NOT built by the 'church' but by citizens's support to have such buildings in their own city - due to a certain competition with others you got more tall ones than anywhere else). Back to the Frankish Empire: the most known Emperor was Karl der Grosse (latin: Karolus Magnus, WRONGLY named 'Charlemagne' - no one existed with that name. Charles = Karl (thats the real name)). At that time most kings in general were traveling kings without a capital. Some had a kind of capital. Karl for instance had chosen Aachen/Germany for a couple of reasons. One is that Aachen has already since Roman Times 'hot thermal water bathes/sources' but also because Aachen was right in the center of Austrasia (basically Western-North Germany/Beligum/Netherlands) which was the core region of the Frankish tribe after they spread from Germany over the borders into the Roman land ... you can see in Aachen not just a really old Romanic Church of that time (partly upgraded with more new-old Gothic additions) but also the throne, reliquien and stuff. He was also buried there (but nowadays its unclear where it is due to some events. But one thing was interesting: he was mumified similar to Egyptian mummies - also the middle age knew about such technics) ...

09:40 that's not eastern. That's actually the Römer in Frankfurt am Main. But half timber houses you can find in many regions of germany from the south to the west to the east and even in some neighboring countries. This style doesn't belong only to germany Only in the northern parts of germany you will hardly find these, but there we also have beautiful architecture like the brick gothic houses, beautiful houses in the coastal towns in a style called 'Bäderarchitektur' or the thatched cottages in small villages. Totally different but absolutely stunning.

That's somewhat of a misleading factoid actually.. That's only true if you count a lot of buildings into the castle category, that English speakers wouldn't call a castle.

I never get why so many foreigners, especially north americans, don't think of the ocean when it comes to germany. Including all of our islands, germany has actually a longer coast line than portugal. And for me it's the most beautiful area in germany at all. So maybe consider reacting to the coastal regions in a separate video. Not only the nature, but also the architecture there is stunning. Here in the Berlin region we call the Baltic sea 'the bathtub of Berlin' and we mean that absolutely positive and friendly, cause we love to go on vacation there 🌅😎
