The Women's Rugby World Cup was amazing, the women play with the same intensity as the men and there are some wonderful and inspirational people in the women's game. You were bang on about mothers scoring tries, the ladies are off the hook, . Cheers for reacting to this,

In the UK and all over the world now the woman’s rugby Union teams have driven up great respect all over the rugby world. They show athleticism and drive, strength and stamina to play two halves of 40 minutes each way with a 10 minute half time rest. How many people can do that man or woman?? A lot of people nowadays watch the woman’s Rugby as well as the men’s games in almost equal enthusiasm!! Cheers Both

3:45 : In Rugby there are many sizes and shapes around the field. The front line is usually formed with massive, heavy and strong players (more than 100kg) while the back is smaller, faster and nimble. It's like a chess game, the back can run fast, the front is heavy and hard to stop, but sometime you can see the front running like rockets and the back punching like concret walls. It's all about versatility and positioning.

My dad had me catching and throughing a rugby ball at 3-4 years old, i was playing in a village team at 11, i was the only girl. My cousin played rugby for Scotland she was impresive. My brother played at Twickenham, the top England pitch and Murry Field in Scotland. We all love rugby and the 6 nations is never missed. I went to the Rugby 7's in Hong Kong a amazing weekend, best sport ever with Hockey 2nd.

I have played rugby for years, what you don't hear is the sound and the impact in realise, people think they are tough...until they play! Rugby is heart and discipline and pain these women are testament to that

I have been following rugby for 60 years. In fact, I live in the rugby city in France: Toulouse. I can say that women's rugby is incredible, very, very successful. No fear of combat, they use tactics, they run, the game is truly a treat. I am proud of French national women's rugby because they are real fighters.

I just saw this. So I'm a bit late. I played rugby for years and honestly, no matter how small you are. Your body will get use to the hits, and you will get up. Its actually safer than NFL because when you wear protective gear, you deal and receive more damage. The reason is because your awareness to protect yourself from being hurt when being tackled and when tackling is stronger when you have no protection at all. Enjoyed your reaction and have now subscribed.

different positions have different body types (which is why rugby is a "sport for everyone") 15 players on the field, 8 subs on the bench 1,2,3 (prop, hooker, prop) usually heaviest stockier body type 4,5 (locks) tallest and heavy 6,7,8 (back row) taller and bulkier than 1,2,3 [not as heavy as 1-5) and shorter than 4,5 9 (scrumhalf) usually smallest 10 (flyhalf) medium 11, 14 (wings) any size, but usually small-ish and the fastest on the field 12, 13 (inside center, outside center) usually bigger than 9, 10, 11, 14. almost same size as back row) 15 (fullback) combination of 10 and 12,13 this is just for guidance, but you can get huge fast guys on the wings, you can get smaller back row players 1-8 are involved in the scrums (these are your "big boys/girls". you want the most power in the scrums to push your opponents off the ball) 1-3 in front (prop, hooker, prop) 4, 5 slot in behind (locks) 6,7 next to locks 8 at the back of the scrum everybody tackles everybody, which is why you see big people running through smaller people and smaller people stepping / outpacing big people small guys can still make a meal of big guys -tackle technique. watch the "Size Doesn't Matter | Faf De Klerk Tribute" on the Die Hard Rugby youtube channel to see a very tenacious little guy taking out bigger guys and standing his ground 😉

OK lets clear some things up for you. Rugby. A team sport of 15 players and up to eight more on the bench. The team is split into ' Eight forwards"and Seven backs. The forwards tend to be heavier set due to the fact they scrummage as part of their "playing duties". Scrummage is eight v eight see link for what it is .kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHrJdWOkqtSWjNE The backs while certainly not an 20 pound weakling and they are usualy the attacking force in a rugby team. However every shape and form can play rugby. As you saw in the clip there are various sizes to the women. And they are all allowed to play. Same goes for every age group playing rugby. Small heavy, light, and tall can play. Its just some countries produce their ladies a little larger than others for their forwards pack. One thing i will add. A couple of the clips showed ladies jumping into the tackle. Its not allowed.
@goatslunch69912 ай бұрын
The smaller players are for speed and the big ones to break lines up the middle. But they all play offence and defence.
@stevesoutar340510 ай бұрын
some of these tackles are fouls - you are only allowed to tackle from the shoulders down - grabbing necks or hair, or dumping players upside sown is illegal, and will normally result in a penalty for the opposing team - a place kick, or the ref will often let the game continue if the opposing team still has the advantage in an attack
@joyfulzero853Ай бұрын
In rugby, you are not allowed to tackle someone (male or female) by grabbing their hair. It is not just against the laws of the game, it's also completely taboo!

Just about all of those were clean, legal hits. Illegal: hands to the face; shoulder charge (no arm wrap- NFL “tackle”); and the tip tackle. If you bring someone’s hips over their head and plant them, illegal.
@branislavpetkovic45079 ай бұрын
4:56 it's for a red card because she raised the player's legs above hip height during the tackle
@ianarnett10 ай бұрын
Not all the hits in the last video were illegal, some were and some in this video are. There are all shapes and sizes in Rugby, each is best fitted to certain positions in the team. All 15 players attack and defend, so if you are small and a large opponent comes towards you then you tackle them, that is why so much emphasis is put on tackling correctly. You don’t pair off size against size as it’s a game of continuity and there are no created halts to the game, which means you can find yourself on any part of the pitch and so can your opponents . No it wasn’t a guy just a girl with short hair. Hair pulling is illegal! As it is a game of continuity, unlike NFL, one way to gain a territorial and positional advantage is to get your direct opposing player to tackle you just as you pass the ball. This eliminates them from play for a second or two which might be enough to give you a “ man over” advantage and score. And don’t forget the World Cup starts tomorrow 8th September in Paris with France v All Blacks and goes on until the final on 28th October, so plenty to have a look at!
@jamesrowe36069 ай бұрын
What the video doesn't cover is that some of those tackles are illegal. You have to tackle below the neck and wrap with the arms. Hair pulling, forearm smashes, head-to-head tackles, hitting a player in the air, or lifting and slamming them headfirst, will get a player red carded (kicked out of the game and suspended).
@T_Vk13279 ай бұрын
To let you know a lot of those hits are now prohibited and you can get yellow to red carded depending on the severity. eg. tackling someone while they catch the kicked ball in the air is an instant yellow card. Also any tackles above the chest are also a yellow to red card. Its to prevent neck or back injuries from the impact of a tackle, like the whiplash of the neck.
@ront24249 ай бұрын
don't forget the above the horizontal ones either, a few of those would have been straight red cards.

Big girls are needed to gain ascendancy in the scrums (scrimmages) because the defending team are able to push them off the ball if they can. 😉😉

Quite a few of the tackles were illegal, and players will have been sent off for 10 minutes or even red carded, some miner one's would have been a penalty, a free kick at goal scoring 3 points or a free kick into touch, there is no separate offence and defence, same players do both. Quite complicated rules.
