I feel like so many americans are scared of trying foreign food/snacks... I on the other hand will take every chance that I get to eat food I had never had before.

Please don't judge us all even if you are correct about the majority. I enjoy trying new foods and many of my friends will follow my lead once they see how fun it can be.

@ladolcevita2326

Lala16ss False. K-town in California has such authentic Korean food that some people claim it's actually better than the food in Seoul, Korea. Being Korean and having visited both LA and Seoul I can vouch for that. The china town in the state I'm from also has some legit Hong Kong style dim-sum and I can also vouch for that because I've tried real dim sum in Hong Kong as well. It sounds like you just want to hate on Americans and generalize them.
@Lala16ss
@Lala16ss 10 жыл бұрын
Ladolcevita Yikes. Voicing my opinion based on what I see, isnt hatred. And I've seen how intolerant Americans are with other people's food, ie this video and much more, so I can pretty much say that I can also VOUCH for that. Kay have a nice day.
@ladolcevita2326
@ladolcevita2326 10 жыл бұрын
Yeah you're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to call you out on it. Basically you're saying "I saw a few americans on a buzzfeed video react this way, therefore ALL Americans must be like this" You're basically saying some real ignorant things and trying to pass it off as fact so don't be mad when I call you out on your bullshit *shrug*.

+MrBroxMan It think it's just the culture shock of the different flavors (especially anything seafood or fermented). I honestly wish the bean paste concept was more of a thing here in the US. I don't think Buzzfeed likes using those snacks that a lot of people are familiar with. I think they pick foods that the ideas of may seem bizarre to foreigners. or something... But most of these snacks are somewhat popular between Koreans, just different versions of it, like the fish sausage and banana milk. Ddeok is sort of traditional, but I'm not sure I would consider it a snack.

***** judging Korean food by its street food is no less accurate than judging American cuisine by McDonald's. A lot of Koreans are under the impression that we eat hamburgers every single day for every single meal.Other "traditional" foods in Korea can be greasy as well, for example, Japchae is made with tons and tons of sesame oil, and samgyeopsal is kind of the epitome of greasy. It all depends on what foods you are eating.
@jaquelynngering3586
@jaquelynngering3586 9 жыл бұрын
***** As I live in Korea and eat school lunches every single day, I'm aware of all that. I eat Samgyeopsal with my Korean coworkers far more than I would eat burgers back home. You say Koreans, don't eat Samgyeopsal all the time, well, that was the POINT. Americans don't eat burgers all the time either. My coworker recently invited me to her home to learn how to make Japchae and there is a lot of oil in it. Maybe your idea of "a lot" is different, but several tablespoons is a lot to me. Japchae might be celebratory in you family, but it doesn't seem to be where I live- it is served in the cafeteria fairly often. I'm not sure where you live currently, but fried chicken is WAY more popular in Korea than where I lived in the US (West coast). Fried chicken is everywhere here. Keeping in mind as well, the entire country of Korea is about the same size as the state of Indiana. Most people generalize the US, a huge country based on a VERY tiny amount of experience. If you go to the south or southeast parts of America there's going to be more fried foods. If you go to Oregon, you're more likely to eat vegan mushroom soup or salmon than fried chicken.
@jaquelynngering3586
@jaquelynngering3586 9 жыл бұрын
***** I agree completely. I just get a frustrated because my coworkers, students, and even doctor here in Korea ask about me eating hamburgers all the time, even though I'm very thin and healthy. No country's cuisine is automatically "healthy" or "unhealthy" or "greasy" - every country has a huge variety of healthy and unhealthy foods and every person then makes their own choices about what to eat.

Katie Pham yeah but that's like if we gave some foreigners some off-brand snacks that not many people actually eat and had that be representative of American culture as a whole. It just would've been a lot better if they had tried some popular Korean snacks rather than random ones. Most of the popular Korean snacks are really not so strange and actually taste pretty good but I guess that would've made this video a lot more boring since people would rather watch them eat a bunch of weird random stuff
