That’s so sad, because s’mores are sooooo good! We didn’t know that prior to making the video so thanks for letting us know.

Kieran, they are a campfire treat geared towards the whole family. Kids do tend to love them! ...and then when you grow up and become an adult, you still tend to love them 😉

@Georgestella1005 жыл бұрын
When I was young children could buy a sort of s'mores which was Marshmallow between a couple of Wafers but no chocolate. You may even still be able to buy them. Generally the UK does not do s'mores at least I've never been offered one in my decades of being around!
@angievara73555 жыл бұрын
You should try melting chocolate and cover a marshmallow and add a slice of strawberry on top or sprinkles or a topping of your choice.

Hiya! I'm from London and used to have smores when I went camping with my family. We'd use digestives for the biscuit and most likely dairy milk or galaxy for the chocolate :)

Im an American livingin Kent, England UK. The people I have met who've tried smores have never heard of Graham Crackers and use "Digestive" biscuits, which is a popular type of biscuit, and then they normally use whatever their favourite Cadbury chocolate is, and they have tons of flavours with milk chocolate and bits of different things inside. So it's very different. 😂♥️
@FromtheHobbitHole5 жыл бұрын
Sounds different. The word “Digestive” in Digestive Biscuits doesn’t make them sound all that appetizing. Cadbury would’ve been a good chocolate to use in the trial...next time!

S’mores isn’t really a British treat so we don’t really do them over here. We don’t have Graham Crackers either unless you want to get them imported which is expensive. I have made s’mores before though, I did a bit of research and discovered digestives were the most similar to graham crackers ( we use them for cheesecake bases like you do graham crackers) so I used digestive chocolate and marshmallows and heated in microwave. It was nice but doesn’t really have any nostalgic connotations for me so haven’t really had them since. I can’t remember what chocolate I used but it was probably Cadbury’s.
@FromtheHobbitHole5 жыл бұрын
S’mores heated in the microwave is much different than roasting a marshmallow over a fire. The fire changes the flavor of the marshmallow just enough to make it even better tasting! It’s sad that you don’t have Graham Crackers in the UK, but it’s good to know you have something similar. Cadbury chocolate would have been a good one for a s’more!
@denisegale47565 жыл бұрын
From the Hobbit Hole I don’t think we are allowed fires out in the open or if we are there are very strict rules and it’s not a common thing over here. So I doubt we shall be doing that 😂

It would be nice if American would take notes from you guys in the UK when it comes to ingredients that are allowed and not allowed in food. High fructose corn syrup isn’t good. We bought a jar of honey one time that had HFCS in it...honey!! It’s already sweet! Lol. Thanks for sharing what Digestives are made of.
@Inaflap5 жыл бұрын
@@FromtheHobbitHole Honey is naturally high in fructose. It varies from one type and region to another, but honey will be from 35 to 50% fructose. The other main sugar in honey is glucose. Substituting bee made honey with man-made HCFS makes the product cheaper... bigger profits. I choose honey that is natural. Honey that crystalises is a good sign. If you honey stays runny... then there's something funny. The higher the fructose content, the lower the glucose, and it's the glucose that sets to make the honey firmer.

For me as a Brit, Hershey's tastes like vomit - that's not hypebole - it literally feels like I've vomited in my mouth. Hate Hershey's with a passion - British chocolate has more cocoa content which is why I prefer it to American chocolate.

It’s really weird that we don’t pick up on that taste. We can definitely tell that British chocolate tastes richer, but not that Hershey’s tastes weird. Guess we are just that used to it...

@@FromtheHobbitHole Had a quick Google check and it seems I'm not the only one, it comes from the use of butyric acid in the processing. which is present in 'vomit' and parmesan chees (which being of Italian descent of course I love). I guess for you guys being brought up on it would have acquired the taste. Honestly, if they had the UK cocoa butter content in Baby Ruths...you'd have the perfect chocolate bar...sorry candy bar. Just catching up with all your videos and really enjoying them...my personal favourites bars are Star Bar and Double Deckers...not sure if you've tried them yet. Also check out Wispa, Twirl & Boosts and savoury snacks...Twiglets. If you ever get sent Marmite...don't make the same mistake as other triers... don't smother..toast, butter and a very sparing layer of Marmite...it's an acquired taste.
