Hey family, thanks for visiting my country. Just remember, this crime statistics are biased against Africa. We have a lot of AAs moving to South Africa, especially the JHB area
@SavagesAdventures6 ай бұрын
Oh yes, crime statistics are never a real representation of a place. It’s always a few bad areas in the city that give the whole city a bad reputation. We have similar things back in the states. And then media loves to focus just on the negatives of a place.
@molefejappie32846 ай бұрын
True if the President of S.A. was whites . They were not going to say Durban has a lot of crime. The problem is the ratio per population. In SA we are only 62milion. But in USA a person can kill many school kids but their crime will remain way down. I am a South African of 59 years of age and since I was born here I never had crime commited to me. There are other whites and blacks who had the same experience as me but they are laying queit and not telling that they never had crime commited to them. So other people are trying to take our country down but fortunately African Americans are coming to live and visit in S.A in numbers. Maybe they enjoy the place because of its similarities with USA. Our culture an their struggle for freedom. They say crime in S.A. is nothing compared to California alone. They say Gun violence is prominent is USA. So compared per population of 350 milion in America versus our 62milion, their rate crime high. I am happy that you enjoyed your time in the sunny South Africa. And please come back again.

I strongly disagree with the negative comments about the monkeys. We should be grateful to coexist with wildlife and recognize that they were here first. It's important to acknowledge the impact of human activities, such as pollution and land encroachment, on their habitats. Let's work towards finding a balance between human needs and wildlife conservation. Regarding the video, I'm disappointed that it doesn't showcase the beauty and diversity of Durban. Nice Review Except The Umhlanga Arch may in a viewer / visitors eyes look pleasing but it is the worst building (especially for the climate of Durban). Even in your video, you can percieve the major winds in the garden. No the architect did not take the Pedestrian Wind Comfort into account and one generally cannot use the garden due to the wind, even on a breezy day. The glass building generates a heat island in a already hot climate. Again take the garden as an example. You are getting sunburnt from all directions & cannot use the garden optimally. And lastly just the airconditioning takes up all the (legal) allowance for the energy consumption. There are must better buildings / public spaces you could have reviewed.
@SavagesAdventures5 ай бұрын
No way I should be expected to have known this information and reviewed a different building lol. It’s still a unique building. It looked like there is something being built in front of the complex as well, do you know what’s going there? I doubt it would do anything for the wind unless it blocks the view as well.

@@SavagesAdventures Driving on the right in a left hand drive car, is just plain wrong. And backward 😂😂😂
@SavagesAdventures5 ай бұрын
Woah woah woah.. at least we aren’t shifting with our left hand 🚗 🫲 ⚙️
@PhansiKhongoloza5 ай бұрын
@@SavagesAdventuresActually, left hand changes are faster and more efficient. Because the clutch is operated by the left foot. So is actually faster. Plus driving on the left makes it easier to shake hands with oncoming motorists. And shooting out of window is way easier too. The benefits are immense. The reason the Romans rode on the left. As did most nations. The Europeans and Americans swapped over to the right for no other reason other than to be anti British. And in the process f#cked themselves.

Quiet interesting. African Americans relocating to SA feel safer in South Africa than in the US. Yet this American tourist seems to supercharge the crime problem in SA. As a South African I don't think I can feel safe in America either. Police violence against blacks, gun culture and terrible food. Honestly I don't dream of ever setting foot in America. South Africans and Africans at large must be serious about building a prosperous SA and the continent at large. Africa is the only place that can ever feel safe for Africans.

@@SavagesAdventures I know I am a National Tour Guide in South Africa and deal with a lot of Americans and the cream soda drink always catches there eye and I say order it just to watch there face when it arrives . I did find your selection of things to do in Durban very interesting ( university/ Office blocks / and a few parks as you can see by the amount of people sitting around there not very popular , I also would have stayed down in the village ( Raddision ) is very nice,where you guys stayed yes you will find lots of WRX .s going around and around besides shopping it’s also where business people stay . Lots of very restaurants Resturant s also in the village , would I have chosen Roma , not sure but those PRAWNS did look good I hope you got an automatic car ( not stick shift ) but if you can identify a WRX someone there can drive stick I in fact grew up in La Lucia not far from there and love the Indian Ocean swim all year round , Hope you got to Kruger , !!!!!!!!!!!!

My mom is from Durban and we spent a lot of time just visiting family in the area so we didn’t get to venture too far out. But my mom always had a manual in South Africa so she demanded manuals once she came to America as well so I had to learn how to drive on a 5 speed suv. Needless to say, that was quite the experience. Then I met my husband and he had an 6 speed Audi S4 and currently has a 6 speed golf R so he really wanted to try a manual in South Africa but we did stick to an automatic so everyone would be able to drive if needed.

Don't forget to visit the interesting squatter settlement at the South end of the Victoria Embankment during your next visit. Burnt trees, acres of litter & random filth as no ablutions available, with stoned illegal immigrants stumbling around through the squalor like zombies. Would make a fantastic dystopian setting for an apocalyptically themed movie!
