Why do people still care about Dazed and Confused? Because it is understated, incredibly well-observed, very well acted, truthful and sympathetic about the life of eager yet hesitant young people. In considering Richard Linklater and Wes Anderson, I am once again moved to ask the question of how a small state like Texas produced two sublime film directors in the same decade? While we are on the subject of Texas themed films, I have to urge younger people to seek out the film "Hud" if they have not seen it yet. Although it is entirely different in tone than the work of Richard and Wes, it is certainly worthy of being mentioned in the same conversation.

Texas is a small state to you? lol. But yeah I recently visited Austin and wasn't entirely enamored til I returned back to LA, my home, and then really got into Wes and Richard and now I'm gonna see Texas differently when I go back again

@@pedestrian_0 Texas is about half the size of the province of Ontario where I reside😉 At the time I posted this comment I was unaware that Richard and Wes were both born in Houston.
