Bought a used I3 tuner for my 09 Silverado 5.3 extended cab with 100k miles on it. I did the 87 octane tune, turned off the AFM and firmed the shifting up and the difference is incredible! It went from a total dog to a truck that really goes when you want it to and is really fun to drive. A lot of reviews mentioned how it improves drivability and they were right. I cant say enough about it. The best 300 bucks Ive ever spent. Awesome!

@@gorenas_garage Yes the option is there for upshifts in all of the gears however the ability to change the points at which it downshifts is not there. That option and the throttle response option are offered on the next generation ( 2014 plus years) which is a different tuner with a different item number that can't be used on the previous generation 07 to 13 years .I felt that the firm shift option was too firm for my truck causing it to bang into the next gear as it shifted. ( I have the 4l60e 4 speed) I was able to opt out and skip that option during tuning and it's fine now. The option to get a custom tune from Diablo is there if you plan on doing further modifications to your truck and would rather have a professional do it , at an additional expense. That's when you'll have to decide whether it's cheaper to buy a Diablo tuner and purchase a custom tune or find a local shop that can tune your truck. The local tune may be able to adjust more parameters like downshifts and throttle response for you as well.

@@JoseRodriguez-jl5ih Yes Jose, you are able to disable the active fuel management with the tuner.(DOD) It only runs in V8 mode now. I also found that the option to make the transmission shift firmer actually made it shift too hard. You are able to skip that part of the tune and use the shift pressure that the truck came with and you are good to go.

Last i remember you have to go into custom tune and shut off DoD/MDS or whatever it's labeled as. Dude makes it sound like that tab is straight up gonna fry your car

The 93 octane tune is designed to run fuel that is 93 octane and above. Octane level of the fuel allows the user to advance the timing of the engine and avoid knocking or pre-ignition on the combustion cycle. Burning 87 octane with a 93 octane tune risks damage to the engine from pre-ignition. The tune does not require modification to the fuel system. I installed a 93 octane tune and burn E85 (100+ octane rating) in my 2009 sierra 5.3 flex fuel truck. I pull a 7000 lb trailer and get 8.5 mpg vs. 10 mpg burning 91/93 octane gas. More towing power and much cheaper fuel.

I am 50 and this is my first tuner. Never messed with these. Did my first tune last night on my 2014 Chevy Silverado (5.3L). Used the following settings: 87 performance, firm shifting, speed limiter "off", and DoD off (it really turns off that damn 4-cylinder mode!). Took it out for an initial tune - run. First thing I noticed was that it held the shifts longer in normal driving (which I like). Did some 0-80 mph runs. The shifts are crisper and it seems more responsive. Maybe a little horsepower gain...it revs up faster. No mods to the intake/exhaust (all stock). From what I can tell, the truck prob would do better with a 91 Performance Tune (like what you did) and needs better throttle response when I hit the gas. What percentage should I use for a more aggressive throttle response? Thanks.

sounds like what i get out of my 16- 5.3L with out a tuner. when i"m running manual 5th. gear. you can drive in that gear all day and it wont drop to 4 cylinder mode. you can actually feel it shift gear to gear. not like drive.

Hold on 93 octane but I have a flex fuel vehicle and I get more horsepower out of e85 rather than pump gas but you guys don't have an e85 tune ? I would buy this but if there's no tune to maximize on e85 which is high octane why would I get it ? All I run is e85 and can definitely tell a difference between premium 93 and e85 .... my truck stock other than a cai makes 326 hp on e85 and like 315hp on pump gas

someone used one of these on my truck and never re verted the stock tuned and traded it in , the dealership did not sell the truck with the tuner locking us out of being able to tune it . the dealership refuses to flash it back and diablo is NO help at all . so now im stuck with a truck i cant tune and no way to fix it . these suck and so does diablo . i have a bricked 2015 truck i cant do anything with

I have a electronic break controller and a kenwood double din DVD with the pac harness module for retaining steering wheel button functions do I have to physically disconnect these each time to tune or just power off radio not sure if I have plug on back of break controller to disconnect was already on my 2006 gmc YukonXl slt 5.3L flex fuel when I got it

You have to disconnect any aftermarket components. It could cause the computer to lock up without a tune at all.

Doesn't delete the afm, you can turn it off so it won't go into V4. o2 sensors, no, it won't delete it.

I just bought one that's supposed to be i3, but the box has the info blacked and there is no model ID on the unit itself. When I use the easy tune for 93 octane, it doesn't give me the options shown in this video. Tried the advanced tune and there are some really confusing settings like "down shift at 243 mph?" Going to support sight now to see if I can find out what I have. It looks like this one in the video. Also I have not been able to get it to connect to my Wifi and the router is only 15' from the unit. Don't know if it is 2.4 or 5.8 ? Not exactly pleased with my experience so far.

When you select “Remove Speed Limiter” does it turn the limiter off or just raise the top speed a little? My 2011 Sierra 5.3 is extremely fast up to 99 mph then it just shuts off which is very irritating! I know for a fact my truck would hit 130 easily if the damn limiter was off!

It turns off the 100mph limiter so yes you would be able to hit 130 once it has been turned off.

.......You change the gear ratio in the ECM so the speedometer reads accurately. If you wanted to go to say 4.10 gears you would change the axles, then change the gear ratios in the ECM.

This guy is not going to reply to any comments but let me tell you this they say it's for the 07 to 14 Silverado or whatever bulshit... this unit 8200 is for all Chevy's trucks SUVs cars.... I have an 06 Trailblazer in this is the unit that I have because that's the one they said I need I don't know that how they can have one unit for all these different GM cars just doesn't seem right to me

@@AmericanTrucksChevyGMC well thanks for making me eat my words and replying... hopefully you can reply to this, as I stated I have an 06 Chevy TrailBlazer SS and the 8200 InTune 3, for some reason my unit only offering me two different pre-loaded tunes and a 91 octane & a 93 octane, since I live in California I don't have access to 93 octane gas so basically I paid $400 for one preload??? Do you happen to know why I don't have a gas saving tune or 87 or anything else?

@@ambulldog111 just because it fits many Chevrolet vehicles doesn't mean you get all the same options or programs for that car or truck. When you plug the unit in the tuner decides which best fits for your application. That's why you really research to find out if that's the right fit for you.

Problem with DiabloSport is that they refuse to mention anything about what the tunes change. If you are modifying the way your engine operates, would you not want to know what changes are being made? They won't mention even the most simple information about the changes. Other companies do this (Cobb for example).
