Guys the Oil Catch and Intercooler are musts!!!! There are TSBs out there that include issues fixed by these. You can't use engine or fuel injector cleaners because of the turbo fans, so you need that Oil Catch. That build-up will flake off the intake valves and damage the turbo blade if you use cleaner - there's no approved way by Ford to clean that grime. The intercooler with a drain plug will save you from those misfires in humid conditions. Otherwise, you'll have to drill a hole in your factory intercooler to drain it. I wish KZbin's search algorithm showed me this guide when I first bought my 2015 F150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost. Instead, I got people suggesting lift kits... Not anything functional.

I think ecoboost got a bad rap from a couple of their problem engines like the 2.0. I've got an 15 3.5 lariat that I absolutely love. Tow regularly and it's torque is ridiculous. About 100k so far but hope to have it for a long time to come. Oil changes every 5k or less depending on how much I tow. I think the engines got a bad reputation from non maintenance. They definitely aren't as forgiving as older na motors when it comes to neglecting maintenance.

Where exhaust is concerned, you just need something that will move exhaust away from the turbocharger faster or in greater quantities. That's where you get performance from an ecoboost, otherwise it's just noise, and there's nothing wrong with that. I have an Eco-Boost, my third turbocharged car. The exhaust that comes with it isn't exactly bad, but a little more performance is always there to be milked.

So apparently. @@betterdeadthanred839 My thought exactly. I actually just ordered my truck a few weeks ago, XLT Sport 4x4 Supercab 2.7 eco. I decided to give Ford another year to work the kinks out of the new F150 design. Honestly, the 2.7 with 3.55 gears that I test drove had more than enough power for me... and I ordered mine with the 3.73 gears (payload package) so it'll be even quicker. Cant wait to finally get it!

@@dlg5485 I have 2015 3.5 Ecoboost, Sport XLT Supercab, 4WD with 6.5 bed. So far it has been great truck, 75K miles with zero issues. I just did tune up, changed transmission fluid and rear diff fluid. Only mods I have is leveling kit with some 33's. I change oil every 3.5K miles and hopefully I get 250K miles out of it.

@@betterdeadthanred839 Same exact truck 4 months ago and LOVE it ! 120,000 thousand miles, one owner and well taken care of. Had NEW Nitto' wrangler tires (600 $ apiece) and a small lift kit. Paid 23,500 because the 4 inch touch screen was blown out at purchase so i just installed the 8 inch conversion screen myself. Enjoy your truck !!

Would you recommend all these for 2015 ecoboost expeditions?

I may be misunderstanding this but using a passenger side catch can what is protecting the driver side ?
@mattwilliams60703 ай бұрын
It protects the entire engine from reintroducing that nasty oil so the one unit protects both sides

Nice, CAI does almost nothing over stock, other than sound.

Justin, is their much difference between the SCT X4 tuner that you mentioned and the Bully Dog BDX tuner? Also, I noticed SCT has a BDX tuner as well. I have a AFE cold air intake, and want to run a 93 Octane tune. I am in a toss up and don't know which is a better product or which give my truck the best acceleration gains. -Thank you!
