I wish they would retrofit it so it would be like the truck longitudinal. The transverse Edge needs all the help you can give it. It’s tight in there. The Start/Stop is really stupid and I wish I could could turn it off permanently, I am blind and I remind my wife to turn it off, hoping that keeping oil circulation will minimize coking up. The last thing you need is to keep shutting the oil circulation off every time you stop., Iwish it was like a diesel with a run on timer to keep it running until the temp is stable enough to shut it off.

The intake does not need to be upgraded. The 3.5 ecoboost make 450 hp and use the same filter as the 2.7. 6:15 if you are not upgrading turbos. The down pipe does not need to be changed. The stock cats are not restricting hp.
@8020Media Жыл бұрын
Do either of them NEED to be upgraded? No, they can support basic tunes and bolt-ons, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a performance benefit to upgrading them. Improved airflow (both intake and exhaust) improves turbo efficiency so you will see power gains from upgrading them + get a more freely spinning turbo so faster spool and less lag. We would at least run an intake with a tune to feed the turbo some additional air and reduce the amount of stress put on it.

It'd be a second gen due to your predecessor: 2015-2018 Ford Edge Sport which had the 2.7 AND the Ford Fusion Sport that had the 2.7EB as well. I had a good time with my 2018 Edge with supporting mods BUT not a lot of support behind that platform besides the F150 and the Fusion. Unleashed Tuning is a good start on their site. This is really going to depend on what tune you are running. Intake, downpipes, etc. aren't going to have too much of an impact on gas mileage but if you run an aggressive tune 100% of the time then I'd assume you might lose 2-4mpg depending on how you drive and accelerate off the line. But you can adjust tunes depending on what you're doing - keep it on an economy/mpg tune for daily driving, put on the performance tune when you're towing, want more power, etc.

@ cool that’s good to know considering EVERY SINGLE MEASUREMENT IF TORQUE since the beginning of mechanical knowledge up until the last few years was wrong. I’d better go have all my torque wrenches ground smooth and inscribed to reflect a whole new way. Must be the most annoying Mandela effect ever.

How much can the Fusion sports transmission handle?
@8020Media Жыл бұрын
TrueJay - We've seen many hit the 425 wtq mark on stock transmissions. But this also depends on what year the Sport is.

As a SHO owner we share the same transmission the 6F55, 550awtq to some in the industry is Max before failure. I'm at 640 awtq and have been for two years and 20,00 miles. My engine is built, tranny is stock. I change 6 quarts out every 10,000 miles i use 33% ULV , the fluid for the 10 speed, it's thinner, allows more transfer with such higher torque and power. Unfortunately Fusion sports like the SHOs 3.5 do not use the same internals as in the F-150. The 2.7 in Traverse form is maxed at under 400hp and 450-475tq before failure. If you plan to do major upgrades, like me you will have no choice but to have the engine built.
