27:58 - The reason (correct me if I'm wrong) about inheriting brokage/bank account type accounts aren't taxed is simply put under the "You can't double tax rule or Double tax is a no go for the feds". Simply put, most money put in to THOSE types of accounts were already taxed in some way shape or form. But, IRAs are untaxed, thus they need to be taxed - Feds

While you are generally correct, I am double taxed every year on my social security income. The biggest take away from any IRA discussion is that the government knew from day one that they could manage their cash flow better if they could get us to take all the risk and place the money into accounts that they could tap at will all while making us think we were getting something for nothing. I’ve been in finance/taxes for 45 years. The patience of the government goons is truly amazing. But they are rapidly running out of our money.

You are wrong. Depends on when one dies (before or after 2026) and value of all assets when the donor dies. See $13.6 exemption. I suspect this is not an issue for you.

I’m in Louisiana. Do we have to specify anywhere not to give our children over 24 a “ forced” portion? Or if they’re all over 24, don’t have to mention that? Also do we have to get whole family together to set up a living revocable trust?
