Hi....! I've been watching the videos for a few weeks. They are awsome and give me a lot of suggestions on what to try next. I'm from the Netherlands and moved to the US in 2012. My American husband has been guiding me through the local and American recipes, and I have a blast trying new ones. I cook and bake, I can food and make big freezer batches. It has renewed my passion for cooking. And your video's have done the same, thank you. I'm gonna have to make whoopie pies again........😉

Some of "our" most famous baked/fried sweets originate from the Dutch. Donuts are actually modified olibollen. And my favorite apple pie variant is Dutch. And don't forget Dutch Letters!

Right around when this was uploaded I was very sick with something that doctors couldn't diagnose, but someone told me those symptoms were very close to mono. I was in bed, miserable, everything I ate came back up, and I was watching this episode in bed, with a pounding headache and I barely understood what I was watching. But I just remember the comfort of the guitar strings, Julia and Bridgette, and a huge chocolate craving

I remember that episode so much and how great that pie looked. After seeing that pie I was drinking water, juice, and milk, and eating what ever I could find in the kitchen. As when seeing you all preparing that mississipi Mud Pie I was watering at the mouth then and is doing it again as I wish to be working there with you all and testing the food you all cooked in the kitchen. I love the woopee pies you all made too and was so excited and wished to have those too to eat, and lick the bowl after you was through mixing the filling ;-). I am a chow hound and love food so much and I tell my family that when I lose my appetite for food they can bet that I am very sick and should see a doctor ASAP.

Show a little respect. He was very instrumental in the founding of this show, the magazines, etc. From Wiki: "Christopher Kimball, the show's host for seasons 1-16, was the co-founder, editor, and publisher of American's Test Kitchen and its associated magazine, book, television, and radio programs from their inception through 2016." You can call him names about how he chooses to dress, but if you read one single paragraph of one of his editorials in Cooks Illustrated, you wouldn't be so derogatory toward him. Grow up, both of you.

E C762 He's never been accused of anything like that. The reason he left, from what I read, is that the board of directors (or whatever they're called) wanted to go in a different direction. They wanted to make some content free to fans. Chris wanted everything to be paid for by viewers before he let them access anything. They wanted to do things like put free episodes up on KZbin. So he decided to start another business that would be in direct competition with ATK, and allegedly he set up his new business while still working for ATK. This is apparently illegal. But Chris went to his new business with one of the female staff he was seeing until his wife divorced him. So they're suing him for the secret business dealings while still working for ATK, and his ex-wife is suing him for deliberately making the company, which she owns in part, less valuable.

@boburuncle14135 жыл бұрын
It's not too sweet because the chocolate sponge cake isn't really sweet.Whipped cream is too sweet and light to compliment and hold the sponge.I can't speak for this recipe but I buy the true pies from the Amish at the Amish Market.They have a balance of flavor and texture unlike any other dessert.Not too sweet or I would not personally like them,as I am the person who removes most of the frosting off a cupcake.I would treat yourself and order online from the Amish in PA. to experience the real thing at least once, completely worth it and supportive of the Amish Community.
