Smash’s topic was loosely based on/a spoof on reality. Björn Borg had a brief comeback in the early 90’s, and Sweden had 5 tennis players within the world top-15 at one point in the late 80’s/early 90’s (if my memory serves me right..)

What made it very memorable was the the old 70:ies fashion that they were in their video. I guess that is why this song could be called a swedish classic. They got a lot of attention at the time (ca 1990).

Smash is a killer stroke in Tennis. Also, you have to remember when that show was created and for whom. It's made for those of us that grew up with Björn Borg, Mats Willandet and Stefan Edberg.

Such a cool band in the 80's as you can see in the background pic in J's introduction. Young sharp dressed mods in their youth. When this one came they wen't more mainstream.
