I love mine, especially the price. One can't really tell the difference between a 1500-watt amp that costs twice as much and this one. I used both to compare and the Hams I talked to could not tell the difference in the signal strength or the audio. Going on 13 years with no problems.

I've been looking at Amps for a year...and for the cost and how robust they are I am pretty sure this is what I'm going to get...yea I know it is not 1500 watts but I've been running 100 and doing good so I figured 5x the power would make a huge jump. Even if I get my eme set up going I think this amp will do me fine...

I do not use an amplifier very often. I mostly depend on a good antenna system but it is nice to have a bit of extra output now and then.

@@bramfam4 ....this is where I have landed. More power doesn’t necessarily solve issues. So many operators run a ton of power, and then they cant hear the other operator attempting to respond. It does me no good to sling the power out if I then spend my time trying to hear those coming back. If an operator cant hear me, but I can hear them, then it MAY be that an amp would be beneficial. Im not interested in just slinging power and only talking to others doing the same. Im good with keeping a clean rfi free shack, good grounding system, good antenna setup, and then letting my 100w do what its going to do. Its also humorous to me when I come across an old curmudgeon that is attempting to belittle me for not running “FULL LEGAL LIMIT”....meanwhile he is carrying on a conversation with me about how he cant hear me. Then how are you carrying on this 5 minute interaction with me on my terrible antenna and barefoot transmission.

a 1500-watt really only gives you 1/2 more s units yet costs twice as much

Can the power be adjusted down? I just purchased one a few days ago,i wanted to run 200-250 watts,i live in an HOA unfortunately 😕

You can adjust your transmitter to a very low level which will cause the amplifier to produce less power. Should work
