I photographed a Corvette C4 in stock at f.a.s.t in Higashiosaka, which has a strong image as a specialty shop for Corvette C3.
The car in question is a 1995 parallel new model with 83,000 km on the clock. In addition to the open feeling of the interior with an acrylic top, you can also enjoy it like an open car by removing the roof top with a special tool.
Jimmy Ishii personally has a strong preference for open roofs, and a car with a roof that opens up just looks twice as attractive.
This car is equipped with an LT1 engine and has 300 horsepower! The torqueful driving, which was achieved by the original without any special tuning, is also attractive for its stable balance from low to high speeds.
I have often covered meetings that gather only Corvettes, but the number of participants for the C4 is extremely small compared to the C3 and C5. Rumor has it that the number of cars left is declining, and the prices of good ones are rising.
This time, I was given the opportunity to ride in the passenger seat and interviewed the car, including its equipment unique to the 1990s.

若い頃にC5に乗ってましたが、カセットがシボレーブランドの車種共通品だったり、標準のエアコンがカマロと同じマニュアルタイプ（日本仕様はデジタル式オートエアコン装着）という具合にC4より装備の共通化が進んでいましたね。 C4の車高は1177mmしかないんですね、F355とほんど変わらないC5に比べ低く見えるわけだ😀

僕が高校生の時、Z32のフェアレディZに乗った従兄弟と愛媛県まで走ったんですが、不思議とその記憶が蘇りました！比べたらいけないジャンルかもしれませんが、当時の速いクルマはこのフォルムが旬だったのかな？と。ただ取材しながらボンネットの両サイド造形など、C3を継承するシルエットの話を聞いて、改めてコルベットらしさを色濃く残したクルマだと思いました！　見れば見るほど、触れて乗れば更にコルベットのルーツがしっかりと継承されたクルマだなと感じさせてくれる名車ですね！
