Awesome trip and views up there in that basin. Nice job on those lunkers! So exciting! Well done on your cinematography on this one. The night views and timelapses were amazing. Having that lake all to yourself was just the icing on the cake. Well done. Can't wait to explore that area someday. I hope you got out again this weekend with the awesome weather. Have a great day.

Thank you! I’ve never had this place to myself, especially on a holiday weekend! It’s a beautiful basin so a feast for the eyes for sure! Those tigers were epic! We’ll have to get you up there, it’s a big climb but so worth it! I did get out for an overnight this weekend! Hope your trip went well! Thank you for watching! 🥾

I enjoyed your time up there. Absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. It's really hard to find yourself alone anywhere on Labor Day weekend! That lake is beautiful, great catches! That one you caught by your camp is beautiful.

Thank you! It was a great trip! Those Tigers were huge! I’ve never had that place to myself on a non-holiday weekend! It’s a beautiful place! Thank you so much for watching!

Thank you! Actually, Ostler Lake sits at 10,600 feet in elevation. So 2000 feet higher! Thank you for watching! 🙏

Wow, those were huge fish. I love Ostler lake. I can't believe there wasn't anyone up there. I don't even try anymore. What did the trailhead look like?
@ChristianPaulPhotographyАй бұрын
Monsters in there! The trailhead was probably only half full when I went in no horse trailers in that parking at all. There were a few people camped at Amethyst when I hiked up there, but Ostler was empty! I’ve never in the 13 times that I’ve been there had Ostler all to myself like that. It was a great trip in there! Thank you so much for watching!

Wow. I didn’t know Amethyst had fish like that

It’s had good Tigers for as long as I’ve been going in there. They’ve grown to be monsters! Thank you for watching! 🎣

Thanks for sharing your adventure. My brother tends to get tinnitus when we hike high altitude. I'll have to tell him about the sudafed trick.
@ChristianPaulPhotographyАй бұрын
Thank you! I don’t get tinnitus often. This is the first time in a few years. I think I had a mild sinus infection going on. Hope it helps your brother. It was a great trip! Thank you so much for watching! 🙏

Really enjoyed watching this video as well as all your videos. I’ve never seen fish that big in the uintas. Would really like to see a recap added to the end with trip stats. Distance in, round trip, elevation gain and relative difficulty and trail conditions. Thanks for the enjoyable videos.
@ChristianPaulPhotographyАй бұрын
Thank you! Those tigers were monsters! This hike is 12.4 miles round trip and 1,900 feet of elevation gain to camp. This is a moderate to difficult trail due to the steepness of Ostler Fork. Some of my hikes I don’t track mileage and such so I’ve generally only shared that on my thru hikes or long distance hiking trips. I’ll look at that more for sure! 👍 Thank you so much for watching! 🙏

I need to backpack to Ostler Lake sometime.
@ChristianPaulPhotographyАй бұрын
This was my 13th trip into this basin. It’s been a number of years since I last went. I tried to space out my visits by a few years and each of the places that I go, so I don’t get burned out on them. There were a couple this year that I didn’t hit that have been moved to next year’s list. It’s a hell of a hike with a pack on in there! But it’s wild and beautiful so very much worth it! Thank you so much for watching! Fall is here! 🍁

Thanks for another fabulous video and congratulations on the huge tiger trout. If it was 19" long, it was at least three pounds. It was good to see you so excited. Did you have the entire basin to yourself? Do you have anymore uinta trips planned this season?
@ChristianPaulPhotographyАй бұрын
Thanks David! There wasn’t anybody else at Ostler Lake. I did see some people camped at Amethyst Lake, and on my way out there were two tents in the meadow. So I didn’t have the whole basin to myself, but I did have Ostler to myself! I honestly didn’t know how the fishing was going to be, and I was extremely surprised at that first one that I got that was so massive! All weekend I got about 15 of them out of there, but I shared the two biggest that I landed. Small pan fryers at BR - 24 and Amethyst Lake. I did not go to Toomset. I’m saving that for another trip. I went into Cuberant last week. I am hoping to get one or two more out there before winter shows up. 🤞 Thank you for watching! 🙏
