This is comparing apples and oranges. The annual fees are close to one another but the cards serve two completely different functions. Honestly they pair extremely well together if you wanted to diversify from the savor/savor1. pairing the C1 duo with the Amex gold could cover most needs that people have for spend. Food (dining and Grocery)- 4X Uber - 10X Streaming - 3X or 4X Entertainment- 3X or 4X Flights - 5x via c1 portal , 3x direct with gold, or 2x direct with VX Rentals & hotels - 10x Travel & other - 2x

You want both as they compliment each other well...or go with the Savor card instead of the AMEX.

You’re comparing a travel card and a daily use card. Also stats show that Amex gold is by far the better earner for average Americans even without using any credits

I have both cards and venture X is way better. AMEX travel points absolutely BLOW compared to Chase and Capital One. Cancelled my AMEX platinum and downgraded to gold, want to cancel but haven’t even used my welcome points bc it sucks so much, I use the other cards points!
