We’ve been using the Delta Gold for the past year, but recently, we got a Delta Platinum and a Reserve while getting an impressive 190,000 miles for both cards and achieving silver status. Your video was super helpful. We were thinking of getting rid of the Gold before it renews since it overlaps with the Platinum. Can you think of any reason why keeping the Gold with the Platinum and the Reserve is a good idea, especially considering the Gold’s $150 annual fee? Thx!

Thank you! Also a tip for speech patterns in videos-sometimes it’s helpful to insert pauses in your script so that it gives the listener a chance to process the information. If it’s a continual stream of words, it can be an overwhelming amount of input. I have a high IQ, so it’s not a matter of intelligence, but the brain needs moments of silence. I know I could just pause the video every 20 seconds, but I notice with other KZbinrs I don’t need to do that because they naturally have pauses as they are teaching. It could just be a personal thing, but wanted to pass it along in case it helps your channel grow. You put out really awesome information, so if the delivery is easier to digest, it could help! I understand the impulse to cut out pauses when editing so that you don’t have dead space, but as a viewer it can be too much.

The correct answer for frequent flyers who live in a Delta hub is: "C - All of the above." Get them both. The BOGO (although the most challenging companion pass to use in the industry) and credits outweigh the AFs. Both give instant silver status (which anything other than Diamond is almost worthless for upgrades in a hub city). Pay the fees - jump through hoops to get back AFs - and get free Sky Club access. But flights and minimal spending should get me to Gold, which allows Sky Priority check-in. Multipliers don't matter, as the points are trivial values compared to other flexible point currencies.

I have an Amex Platinum card and get Priority Pass for free. Only problem is PP is no longer giving Amex Platinum card holders food vouchers. I'm traveling to Tampa where there's no lounge for me to use which makes having PP useless for me. I'm flying SW if someone knows something I don't please advise.

C1 miles are simply not equal to Chase UR points by a long stretch. I have both cards, and use C1 Duo as my backup system, especially for Int'l travel. The CSR has far more versatility in points earnings and better redemption options. Thanks!

As an ecosystem, Chase is better. As a single card, the Venture X is better. 95% of people are not getting trifecta and optimizing categories. Capital One duo is what I recommend to people who ask me.

For me the AMEX Platinum beats them all because you can now transfer AMEX points to Hawaiian and then transfer to Alaska. I fly Alaska almost exclusively (I live in Alaska so I don't have much of an option.) I don't live close to a United hub and the Capitol One partners like British Airways have devalued their miles and have limited US domestic flights available for transfer. They also put huge fees on international fight award redemptions. Plus, the AMEX also gives Centurion Lounge access. Cap1 only has a couple lounges. They do look nice but I'd need to go out of my way to use one. With the AMEX Platinum you need to be already know you'll be using the things it gives you; as it's pretty expensive otherwise.

Gold is good if you have a family of 4 and you take a single trip with delta it pays for itself, free checked bags, 4 at $35 each way. You recover the annual fee on the outgoing flight and are up $130 on the way back. Add the discount on points flights and a hundred dollar delta stays credit and you can get a lot of value of this if you fly delta a few times a year.

Does the pp have access to the Amex lounge?

Something good to add is the Quest card can give you up to 6000 PQP annually and the Club card 10000 PQP. You earn 25PQP per $500 spent with the card. Also, I do not know how much miles can be used to cover the cost of the Quest card, but the $525 annual fee of the Unitec Club Card can be paid using miles, 30000 miles, which values each mile at 1.75 cents, which is a high redemption value. This is definitely missing from the comparison. Now, depending on the usage of the card, the club card could simply be "free" to you while still enjoying reward miles.

I have the blue as I relocated to an AA hub so I no longer fly delta so I downgraded from Gold. If I relocate back to a Delta hub city I will upgrade the card again.

It doesn’t explain in your website that basic economy is unacceptable. 5. I called CSR and he said “You need to have a physical card with you”. 6. Not true- The Sky Lounge worker checks their phones. 7. Clarification done with the worker, verbalized that “It was because of my ticket” even if I have the Delta Reserve Card. 8. Other customers were denied access too.
