Crematoriums must run at ~1600 degrees F. It takes on average 2.5 hours to burn off organic matter (still leaving behind the bones, bone fragments and teeth that then must be crushed in a separate process). Heat Energy (calories) = m * c * ΔT m = mass of human ( average: 80.7 kg ) c = specific heat of human body ( 3470 J. kg-1 . K-1 ) ΔT = Change in temperature. ( cremation temp - room temp ) Room Temperature = 26 °C 1600 °F = 871°C So: H.E. = 80.7kg * 3470 J/kg*k * (871-26) H.E. = 236624.5 kcal The energy in a kg of coke(coal) is 8000 kcal/kg. So one body would (under IDEAL conditions) take 236625kcal/8000kcal/kg = 29.57 or about 30kg (66 pounds!) of fuel to burn. To cremate 3 to 6 million jews, therefore, it would take around 100,000-200,000 metric tons (220,462,280-440,924,560 pounds!) of coal. That is an awful lot of coal (i.e. impossible) for a country that couldn’t heat its homes, operate its tanks or fly it's aircraft etc. because of beyond-critical fuel shortages. Also when coal is burnt, it generates around 5-10% of its weight in ash. So, I'll be generous and say 5%. So 9 million kg of ash from the fuel. The average adult leaves ~2.5kg of bone fragments, teeth and ash from cremation. So we have 9 million + 2.5x6million = 24 million kg of ash. That is a lot of remains to just disappear and leave no trace. Makes one think. H.E. = 80.7kg * 3470 J/kg*k * (871-26) H.E. = 236,624.5 kcal per body 236,624.5 kcal * 6,500,000 = 1,538,059,250,000,000 kcal total 999569974676.29 kcal per megaton That's 1.53 Megatons of TNT That's 1000x all the explosives used in WWI. That's 1/2 of all the explosives used during all of WWII. That's 100x the nuclear bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. All from a non-nuclear, resource-starved, Texas sized blockaded nation fighting for its life on multiple fronts during a world war. Truly amazing technology indeed. It really makes one think.

FUN FACT: When Michael came to record this video in Brazil, the police did not want him to show the favela and the reality of poor families at that time. So he went up to the favela and asked permission and security from the owners of the favela (the drug dealers who were in charge) so that he could film and show everyone there. Michael himself didn't care who would appear on film, he wanted to capture the energy, simplicity and joy of those people. The drug dealers made Michael and his team safer throughout the work, much more so than the government and the police. That says a lot about the lyrics of the song. 🇧🇷💕

They have many successes and have performed with many other artists, such as Michael Jackson/"They don't care about us", Pet Shop Boys, Caetano Veloso, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Jimmy Cliff, Shakira, Daniela Mercury, Margareth Menezes, Simone, the rapper Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Claudia Leitte, Ivete Sangalo, Carlinhos Brown, among many others!

I really love that song of Michael. His dance moves, almost the way how native Americans used to dance, his screams like a wolf, when he brings all of Michael Jackson into this song, his arm and hand is going into his neck and dancing with the people in Brazil. Evan Chandler tried to do another extortion of money. He sued Michael, he accused him that Michael was talking about Evan Chandler in this song. The court rejected the accusations, Evan Chandler did 3 attempts of extortion of money. It's important that people know that. Those are the kinds of people Michael had to deal with. Michael is an absolutely genius in dancing, song writing and singing. His dance moves are full of passion, joy, love and perfectly smooth. There is no one in the whole world who is able to imitate his moves. They come straight from his heart. He is absolutely an innocent person, who tried to do good in the world as much he was able to. I feel so sorry that greedy and jealous people finally broke his heart and spirit. They'll get their karma, like Martin Bashir right now. He apologized after Michael died, for his lies. His report led to the accusations of the Arvizo, that was the joke of the day! His lies in his report had consequences, he lied to have more fame, popularity, money and clicks. To lie about someone, to put him down, so that he has more success is so insensitive and mean. He really tricked him played his friend, to get footage that he turned around to hurt him. I can't believe someone is doing something like that. The same behavior as Safechuck, Reed and Robson. Thank you for that video. Michael deserves to get so much more attention. The main media was really great in reporting LN and Oprah's interview, They were not great in reporting about Safechucks and Robsons fabricated story based on lies. The biggest attempt with the highest amount of money in American history. Probably of HBO, they are just not reporting the truth!

I personally prefer the version filmed in a prison it’s more coherent with the message. But sadly i heard the prison version was a hot topic back then and made the news as he was depainting ( and saying the literal truth lol) of the governement and they didn’t appreciate it. It got censored on many channels and had to do another video so it could be broadcasted. Still the message still goes through. It was a smart move because doing this song with a video was the only way to get even more play and at the end expend the song and bring knowledge to people. That’s one of my favorite songs of him. It’s also around this era where I believe he was hella criticized for « becoming white » as he literally kept saying i know what I am and I’m black. It sad people came to believe way more later that his vitiligo was indeed true. There’s so many pictures starting from early 80´s where you see he was already having big ass patches of skin falling. I guess at some point he wanted to « unify » his skin tone. People also were saying a lot, because he always carried umbrellas, that he didn’t want to get tan when in reality you literally get hella burnt by the sun when you have vitiligo it literally goes directly to burn you just like people having the albino condition.

The Brazil version is also coherent to people who know how black people are treated and how the cops are violent in Brazil. The Brazilian governament were worried about how this mv would affect Brazil's political image. Michael chose Bahia and Rio for a reason. Bahia has the largest black communit in the country and rio has a really bad problem with police violence in favelas. The difference is the prison version shows explicit how things are.

Brazil is the biggest black country in the earth, outside the Africa continent - and then, Salvador, in Bahia, is the biggest black city in the world, outside Africa too. So this video is much more coherent than the prision one. And if you take the geopolitical context, that the US is the most fascist and undemocratic nation in the world, that it promotes coups d'etat and destroys democracies around the world (it has even promoted and sponsored two coups d'etat here in Brazil), then the lyrics of "They dont care about us" are much more coherent in context from the South American viewpoint. Michael knew that.
