I love documentaries. I love Hilary Hahn. Thank the lord she had a documentary- she deserves it. And thank you for sharing it with us :)

There is a very special quality of her playing (actually, more like the whole person as she is) that immediately disarms people and makes them to sit back and relax. I don't know what exactly the magic is but she possesses that for sure. She is, surely, at the same level with those greatest ones including Heifetz, Oistrakh, Szeryng etc.
@keithstarkey55844 жыл бұрын
I suspect, Jean, that the magic is the reality of precision she brings to the table. It brings subconscious comfort, and hence we relax, knowing we are hearing what should be, how it should be and that it will be as it should be. I think that's what Hilary brings to the table.

Terrific documentary. Well done. I found Hillary's view on being or not being anxious on stage or for me in front of anyone very interesting and I will have to think about that for some time.

Hilary is the only musician who’s sheer music alone can invoke and bring out such emotion in and from me. I’ve never had something sound so beautiful it made me cry other than Hilary.

I’ve never heard a cleaner violin sound as hers. Many can’t stand the violin sounds because it can be a little scratchy, but never with her.
@deanronson63318 ай бұрын
You got it all wrong. Most people like the violin sound because it's so silky and smooth due to the vibrato. It can only be scratchy in the hands of a lesser player, if the violin is of a poor quality, or if a Musica Moderna piece wants it to be raucous-sounding.

I just love you Hilary! You’re so down to earth and approachable! I love your sense of humor too! Thank you for blessing us with your beautiful personality and gift of playing the violin! ❤❤❤❤

Her extreme "down to earth" approach along with her "nerves of steel"... are a GREAT combination to ad with her years of concentrated, disciplined practice... she really is a wonder to behold... and ad to the fact, I THINK (???) she was the one to commission Edgar Meyer to write his stunning new violin concerto... It's my favorite new violin concerto... probably... since the Barber... way back when...

@@mr.wrongthink.1325 Awww, that's a bit harsh. I'm sure she'll have lovely offspring and still be a great violinist. And if she is looking for someone to have offspring with, I am willing to make that sacrifice for humanity.

Angel Strings (for Hilary Hahn) Innocence, it's who you are, but there's so much, more inside, Mystery, behind those blue eyes, light up my soul like fireflies in a jar, Even hear you when I sleep, in my dreams, sounds better than anything, Chorus Baby play, your angel strings, let your fingers, dance for a while, Wake that passion, deep within me, set it free, give it wings to fly, Watching you, graceful woman, so amazing, the way you shine, With the beauty, of the music, that you're making, got me hypnotized, I just wish that you were here, in front of me, but thank God for your melody, Chorus (Repeat) Like a Siren, pull me in, ain't nothing I can do, Try to fight it, never win, not when it comes to you, Baby play, your angel strings, Baby play, your angel strings, Jarrod Nichols

If somebody was born with a lot of talent is that really impressive? Or is it more impressive to watch somebody evolve, tap into themselves, and grow? I like Hilary Hahn but she isn’t special. She was born with an innate gift. In a way, I don’t think it really transcends because I’m watching something that a person was born to do.
@von0312 Жыл бұрын
hilary has said herself she was never a prodigy. maybe she started young or biologically has something in her brain that makes her naturally better at the coordination and technique skills required for music, but she has an excellent study habit and her hard work should not be undermined

Bah, it's preconceived notions like this that never allow you to really be in the moment and experience what you can really do.
