I forgot to add the Mexican bomb thingy, sorry about that. Like I said in the video description of the longplay on my own channel: A Mexican throws a bomb if I step into his territory. I recorded it so many times that I forgot to include it :). Hate when that happens. Happens when I redo parts over and over again until I get them the way I want, so I see them over and over again. Then sometimes (like this time) I just think I recorded it again and continued on. Oh well, sucks, but meh. The longplay was already recorded, encoded and upped. Didn't feel like redoing the process. I always do extensive research before doing a longplay to include as much as possible. Checking different versions, even the difference in game files, checking different cheats (not to use during the longplay of course, but in another video, some are fun), reading reviews... and then include as much as possible in the longplay. Stuff I don't include are in an 'extras' video instead (this longplay doesn't have one), and video description. Sometimes I mess up and miss something, even though I knew about it :), but it's very rare. Oh well..... shit happens :P

Games like this were the highlight of the computing era of the late 80s, early 90s in my opinion- originality, lots of talent and care taken with the graphics and sound, humour produced with both of those tools to good effect, and a variety of imaginative game modes strung together. The sort of games that left young players a little bit unsure as to whether they were doing it right (because it was not formulaic, like a straightforward platformer for example), but having fun all the same. I remember being sat in front of a computer playing this, usually with mates or just me and my brother, frantically trying to manoeuvre the armies about on the battlefield to avoid being shot.

It is easy to forget how far graphics came in the last 30 years. But The amiga was a waste. Highlight of computing tech? The Sega Genesis came out in 1988, cheaper and better than the Amiga. I dunno how any one would keep buying the Amiga stuff. Granted the better games were mostly 2D...this was 2 but at least it let you go down, as opposed to things like Mario. But even the Gameboy was instantly better than every game I played or seen on the amiga, and thats 1989

to think there was fools who spent $700 for a game console that had terrible games instead of paying $189 for games people knew as a whole that would survive. Most didn't even know about the Amiga until many years after it had crashed and burned. And even worse, people who still spent that money 7 years after it came out, when there was enough proof that the amiga sucked. playing the amiga in 94 is like watching the lion king on VHS in 2024 and still thinking VHS is gonna succeed. The rich people got the Amiga while the poor people got Sega and nintendo. And then the amiga people were wondering why people played games since their games were so boring. Turned out it was just the amiga and any one who put stock into the atari just proved even further, they had no idea what they were doing. But it makes me happy that theres a generation gap between true fans, and people who were just bored and rich.

@ShejtanVrbaski 4 жыл бұрын
A true classic. Shame it's easy to beat after one gets used to it. I guess it's more fun to play against a friend. Once in a while I still play if for a bit on the emulator and always do what I originally did in Amiga-day - move around the map and intentionally not attacking the CPU side, allowing it to get stronger armies - then the game experience is a bit longer and more challanging.

I enjoyed reading them as a child. I have almost all the volumes. Except the new ones. The game was available in a remastered edition for iPad. But not anymore. I think the woke lefties got it cancelled. Probably because it contains the confederate flag and you can play as a rebel. Thereby winning the civil war for the south and changing history.

OMG. This game was sooooo good. I totally forgot I ever played it. On the PC version if I remember correctly there was a couple of ways to kind of cheat in the battles - I think the cannons were kind of overpowered so you could basically destroy everything with them if you got good at the acarde part and you managed to take out the other guy's cannons - I have a hazy memory of basically needing to take out his cannons with my cannons then destroy the bridge with the cannon and it was all over because I'd just be able to pick them off. But I remember it being so much fun ghough.
