Really pleased that Virocop made it into your top 10 list. I really enjoyed working on the graphics and designing the levels and is one of my favourite games I have ever worked on. Game creation was simple back then, you could send 6 months and produce a game with a team of 8 people. An interesting fact is that the cheerleaders at the end of the ice hockey boss fight are based on my wife.

You’re a dev? No way?! How awesome. This comment pleases me no end 😊 Where did the name Dave come in to it? Love it. And your wife? How did she feel? 🤣👊
@colinseaman62692 жыл бұрын
@@TheGebs24 Yes, Dave stands for Digital-Armed-Virus-Exterminator it was meant to be D.A.V.E but got changed to Dave. My wife was very happy to be part of it. I showed my kids it recently who thought it was very funny. I was one of the main artists but as artists, we also did the level design, animation and front end. I’m still in game Dev so spent more than 30 years in the industry and saw a lot of change in that time. But it’s still one of the best industries to be in. Where else can you create whole unique worlds that people have fun experiencing?. Love your channel I’m also an avid Retro gamer. With several handhelds, Raspberry Pi’s and just setting up the Steam Deck. Keep up the great work. The Amiga was the computer that got me into the games industry and love seeing all the reviews of the old amiga titles that have really picked up with the release of the Amiga 500 mini. Very fond memories of this time in my life. Have fun and stay safe, all the best.

Hi! Great video, and wonderful list. I'm one of the Planet Coaster devs and I just wanted to point out that it's a spiritual successor to Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, not Theme Park. I really enjoyed Theme Park on Amiga in the 1990s, and it's nice to see it listed here. Thanks for your hard work with these videos and I'm looking forward to more Amiga coverage. Would love to see some Public Domain ADF games.

It flew by like water, that's a sign that it's fun. I never thought you'd like the Dream Web. I know about the game, but I've never played it, I'll have to give it a shot. By the way, Virocop is playable for two, one controls the walking and the other controls the head with the machine gun. It's fun to coordinate with each other.

Dreamweb is an incredible game. I seem to remember the original boxed version included a copy of "Diary of a Mad Man", where you could pre-immerse yourself in the gradual insanity occuring in Ryan's mind..

Hi Gemma!! I'm very surprised by some of the titles you mention, and I'm sure you handle a fairly extensive catalog of AMIGA. I like that you mention Risky Woods, it was the last great Spanish game of the time that Dinamic made. When it comes to car games, it is true that Lotus Turbo is the title that is always mentioned, but I recommend you take a look at Jaguar, which always seemed a little better to me. I'm going to try to take a look at the games you mention and I don't know. You have a great knowledge about the AMIGA catalog, it's nice to see you, for many reasons. :P Thank you for your work

It's a little ironic that you mention the advantages of a zoomed out view in Benefactor, yet Pac-Mania made the cut with its zoomed in view that doesn't let you see all the ghosts at once! Just teasing though ;) Great list! One of my personal favourites that often gets overlooked is Fury of the Furries. Don't know what it is about that ninja rope that makes it so enjoyable to use, was great fun in Worms and it's great fun in FotF too.

At a time when I was coming to accept that the Amiga was dead (in as much as professional game devs had washed their hands of it, not withstanding a very few last gems like Colonisation), Virocop came as a lovely surprise. It was a fun, nicely designed game and the graphics are very smart, among the best looking on the Amiga I think. A rare, professional looking effort post 1994. Dreamweb and Police Quest 3 look appealing to me too (isometric fan here) and I didn't get around to playing either when I was a child, though Pac Man to me is an 8-bit game that I wouldn't bother with on the Amiga. I enjoyed Theme Park at the time but have gone off that sort of game in the intervening years. Fightin' Spirit isn't my thing, though I used to love fighting games (I would probably go for IK+ or Panza Kick Boxing if I were to choose a beat'em'up). Risky Woods and Benefactor look fun, but not really up my street, whereas Lotus YES, I loved that and I don't think it will ever get totally old, if only because of the music. Ruff'n'Tumble is a good choice too; like Risky Woods and Benefactor it isn't my type of genre, but I played a demo of it and recognised it was pretty fun and like Virocop it has lovely graphics. The player character and the enemies are nicely drawn and animated, one can appreciate the work done by the developer to produce a quality title that uses the Amiga's capability close to its full graphical potential.

Hello from the USA. First I really enjoy channel and the content that you cover not one thing but a lot of older gaming systems and now the full size Amiga 500. I am going to order a A500 mini and all the related products. My question is about getting started. Is there video or anther KZbin’er that has done a step by step set up and finding games and work bench? Then copying and loading them into the mini? Any help will be appreciated. I had a first year Amiga 500 that I loved and was stolen by oldest son and I miss being able to play. The mini will work until they do a mixi or I can find a used Amiga 500 or 1200 in good condition to buy. Thank you for your time.

Dreamweb was one of the first demos I ever played on PC as a kid. I didn't really give it a chance though. I guess it looked too simplistic and boring, especially when System Shock looked like a 3D version and far more exciting to a kid who was lucky to have a Pentium. But I will try it sometime.
