This isn't just a third-party sample of some exotic instrument. These sounds, in their original form, ARE the voice of the computer. That is so inspiring.

Now you know where Spacesynth musicians get their ideas from for their awesome synthesizer tunes -- the old Amiga demos! Of course, Spacesynth tunes are done with full-blown modern MIDI synth and CD quality sampler setups, but imagine if Amigas had that advanced digital audio hardware back in those days. If I had a time machine (other PC makes are available, as is other Apple Mac OS 10 software -- sorry I couldn't resist that one) I would _love_ to travel back to 1992 with my Samsung laptop PC and show some Amiga owners these _awesome_ Amiga demo-like Spacesynth songs! If you want to hear some terrific Amiga demo-like synth music, check out Area 51 on KZbin. The musicians may even be from the same Area 51 that was an Amiga demo group back in the day. Now, that really _would_ be spooky! Also check out The New Generation Of Spacesynth: The Second Coming. That brill synth music is _really_ Amiga demo-like in places, as well as being very Jean Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream like in places. I wonder if any Roland D-50 synths were used in any of the awesome synth songs? The Roland D-50 was a favourite digital synth of Jean Michel and lots of other electronic musicians at the time (1988), including Tangerine Dream and the Pet Shop Boys. Some of the vocoder voice FX in some of these Spacesynth songs are just _awesome_! I have just played The New Generation Of Spacesynth, and still cannot believe how Amiga demo-like this brill synth music is. As a matter of interest, Spacesynth was actually the name of a Roland D-10 synth sound I programmed myself back in 1989 (I think), and then what happens? Synth musicians in the 21st century "steal" my D-10 synth sound name to mean a new genre of electronic music. The cheek of it! By the way, as far as I know, Spacesynth (the electronic music genre) didn't exist back in the late 1980s, so my Roland D-10 synth sound of the same name was unique back then. Wow! It used some PCM samples of what sounded like a continuous flute sound. I haven't played it for years, so cannot remember exactly what it sounds like. But this Amiga demo tune is just _awesome_! And it is one I don't have on any of my Amiga demo floppy disks either, so it has gone straight into my Opera bookmarks. Anyway, thanks for reading. Alastair C Parker (a mega Amiga fan since 1988.)

@bniedermann Main melody (the composition) is definitely unique, so claiming that the "melody is actually from Tip & Firefox", is way too much said imo. The instrument (sample) used for main melody is very similar though. Please note that i had to resort to Google Translate to understand anything from your reply (it might've translated in a wrong way). Therefore i'm not 100% sure whether you were also talking about sample similarity or composition similarity.
@maratonnellata4 жыл бұрын
let's say that this may be inspired from the music from the previous demo, or they were both inspired by a common earlier source. I always loved this song and still feels great today, but you can't deny they are similar indeed (I didn't know the cited demo before)

The main melody SAMPLE i.e. the INSTRUMENT has been taken from the Enigma mod by Tip/FFX. And it states so very clearly in the original mod text. Nonetheless, the composition and whole overall vibe of the tune have nothing much to do with Hyperbased (the Enigma demo tune) at all.
@simonebernacchia7 жыл бұрын
At ther time was common practice to "borrow" samples from other mods considered the lack of resources - it might still happen now but much less thanks to the moltitude of free sample libraries :)
