The music, written by Simon Rogers and remixed and coded by Richard Joseph, won the 1991 Golden Joystick Award for Best Soundtrack. RIP Richard Joseph, I have songs burned into my brain forever thanks to his amazing talent , even going back to the C64 days check out his other music too on some amazing games from back in the day.

I remember my strat was to buy a really fast forward then run round picking up coins and accruing upgrades that way. If you got Nashwan early on then you were boned, but if you got 4-5 games of upgrades you had a chance when you came to face them. What a game though.

I just sat down to play California games on the MD/genesis. No idea why I randomly recall this track, must be a solid 15-19 years since I played SB. Took me a solid 5 minutes of whistling and humming to remember where it's from. SB2, sensible soccer and chaos engine were mine and my bros favourite 2 player games. The Amiga had such amazing sound, and those outputs made connection to an amp easy. The split channels were a little let down but you got faux stereo

@@Mindhumble True, the lack of need for coding and tweeking the level of graphical 3D CG-modelling, npc's, coding details & complexities needed nowerdays, insomeway can get inthe way or cover, hide or bury aspects of playability more noticeable of old. (I miss Road Rash - I''ve yet to look for a pc version 'til now~) The nearest I've come to a more modern game in a playstyle, ethos, playability factor akin to good old Speedball 2, ..is Blood Bowl Legendary Edition, albiet it comes from the Old World' of Warhammer, but more in a battllechess turnbased format.

This stuff influences modern dance music so heavily man, I love it!! Like that tune by PPK that did well, Resurrection is basically a Hollywood style rip-off of Traps by Huelsbeck (Turrican 2 AGA Version). I could name hundreds of dance hits that are rip-offs of OGMs. I would rip them off or cover or whatever they call it. These are timeless classics in the same category as Bach or Beethoven. In years to come looking back, they will get even more plaudits when people realise how far ahead of time this stuff is!
