I've never played this on the Amiga but like you I love the Mega Drive version. Yes it's a very short and basic game but I still have good memories of it - when the console is mentioned I always think of AB well before Sonic comes to mind.

It has such a bad reputation but it's so undeserved. To me seeing this as a kid was unlike anything else I'd played, closest you could get to the arcade at home for ages.

As someone who just doesn't get Altered Beast on the Mega Drive (as you know), I had a stockholm syndrome joke all ready to go when you loved this. Which means it must be awful. I mean, how bad do you need to be to get 52% less than Rise of the Robots out of Amiga Action!
