Freddie Roach trained 25 world champions. I'm not saying he's the best. But you can't say he is bad.

I know this is an old comment but TBH there are only a handful of great boxing coaches left in the world, and IMO Freddie is now at the top since Emmanuel passed.

Thank you Amir Khan for training with Freddie Roach. I'm right-handed and I sometime have a hardtime mimicing Pacquiao's footwork because he's left handed. Now I can incorporate it into my boxing skills.
@commandervander111 жыл бұрын
Roger Mayweather's mitt work serves a different purpose. It's for timing, speed, reflexes and accuracy. They're not working on power. Mayweather's mitt work is soley a drill. You work on all of those things at full speed so when the fight starts, the reflexes, etc are intact. All of the elite guys know how to throw punches, that's what the heavy bag and there apparatuses are for. Doing what Floyd does at full speed keeps punches sharp and land with impact.
@MrJAMESTAKER8 жыл бұрын
Trey Newsome Floyd and Rogers mitt works on everything his offense, defense, timing, sharpness, accuracy, combination, motion, it's the best all in all pad workout most trainers work on there fighters offense but don't train his timing or space not even defense that's why Floyd always has that edge in matches

What Annoys me He's only 24 and he's the light welterweight champion of the world, what more do you want from the fucking guy? He's beaten the most technical, Kotelnik, the hardest puncher, Maidana, the undefeated, Salita, the fastest, Malignaggi and plus he won the silver medal at the Olympics at age of only 17 The guy just took a freaking beating and took it all like a man, if that aint worth your praise, then dont bother watching boxing at all anymore since clearly you cant be impressed.

I don't know about amir khan about he's chin what I know no matter how many time he lose at fight he will grow stronger and more smarter because to me you'll be even more better and stronger cause the lost the he fight is the lesson that make him even train harder so Amir I hope that you're legacy will be greater 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😁😁😁😁😁😁

The kid has a lot of potential & is a superb athlete with fast hands and feet, but in oder to get to the elite level of boxing and become a PPV attraction in USA, he needs to develop technical boxing skills, he relys mainly on his athletic ability! He needs to relax a bit, work off a double jab in order to set up his combinations, step with his punches, move his head, integrate his offense and defense in unison & finish off his combinations with a double jab ! Amir has youth to correct mistakes.

@Makaveli175 Cheers my friend I agree he's on a good path lets see if he'll have good opposition in the future at this moment I think the philosophy of Mr Roach isn't suited to be in the sport for years...he would do better as far as longevity with like a Manny Stewart type trainer. I respect Freddie all day of course. It's just he took a beating from Maidana and that won't last in the sport guys are only getting stronger so.

@Khan12078 Styles make fights, they say that for a reason, Hopkins lost to Taylor twice, Taylor beat Pavlik twice so you'd expect Pavlik to beat Hopkins right? Wrong. So Ortiz losing to Maidana means absolutely nothing with regards to Amir Khan, haha. Hattons debut fight in the US was Malignaggi? Robbie Alvarez was Hattons debut in the USA in 1997 at Madison Square Garden, what're you talking about?

@HomeOfBritishBoxing Very good footwork also. The sky is the limit for this kid and I can't wait for him to mix it up with bigger names. As far as a weak chin, I think that KO loss he had was due to making the weight. We will find out for sure this weekend though because Maidana will land some punches on him and we'll see how he handles the power.

@davidc427 Corley,Zab judah by knockouts and peterson by knockout, victor manuel cayo undefeated fighter topped with ortiz so basically the top 15 light welterweights out of the 1000 light welterweight in the division all with knockouts within the span of 6 rounds. so i guess he was a worthy opponent and judging by the way khan fought him with his won style trading in most rounds, which he could of one easily with the jab like he did in the malanaggi fight but he had to prove the haters wrong
