Les, I agree - there's something undefinable about her voice that glosses over any "imperfections". Her voice continues to change every year, prompting a new round of superlative adjectives. I wonder if this tone and timbre that's been part of her voice since late last Fall will redefine the type of songs in her repertoire, or will she still consider coloratura? Time will tell!

Glorious! What a treat - 5 songs in one setting!! Amira demonstrates her Inner Light with each song! I remember seeing her performing in a video when she was 7 years old, and the spark of passion was very evident even then. I imagine that when she was in her crib, Amira was singing to the toys above her! Her heartfelt love of opera continues to develop and grow!! My Love goes out to her!! High production values in the main - Great Stuff!!

Its remarkably easy to sing. Its like a vocal exercise wth a few consonants thrown in. Very comfortably in range for a soprano. The challenge - if there is one - is makong the second iteration interesting.

Many people like to compare Amira to Maria Callas but it is not a fair comparison. Amira's voice is so much more pure and clear. And, Amira doesn't even strain to sing her songs as some of these past and present "divas" seem to have to struggle with. Her presentation is so calm, so natural, and her voice is like that of an angel. Some people say that she has an old soul. But, again I disagree. She has a new soul. And she is sharing that soul with the world.

Thanks for uploading these fine quality vids! Some of the songs played at Steenbergen were almost ponderously slow, but the tempo here suited Amira just fine. What great voice control of both high and low notes! I hope that smile and curtsy remain part of Amira's performances.

I've listened to this video at least 20 times now... it never gets old. Amira is blessed with an amazing physical instrument, but combines it with such great musical sensibility and sensitivity to the piece she is singing. She is still just a young teen, but Amira is the best female vocalist I've ever heard, and I mean that quite seriously. She's too young to sing some of the more vocally taxing parts out there like Brunnhilda or Queen of the Night, and I wouldn't want her to even try these yet until she's fully grown, but I'm sure she could master them with ease one day. I just don't want her to lose the qualities her voice has now.

As les cox says, Amira's voice is different from other serious singers, and so beautiful. Could it have something to do with the fact that she never had singing lessons before HGT in 2013, and that the voice we hear is simply "unpolluted" natural talent?

Part of the answer may be here: www.oxfordsinginglessons.co.uk/understanding-resonance-with-mri-scans/ Amira seems to have developed this without any lessons, and it's almost unheard-of in one so young; evidently it can take years of training to acquire this (and many never do), and it would appear from various comments that singing teachers do not attempt to do that until the student is past puberty. Whatever the reason, she is in a class by herself.

I wish I knew! (and so, I imagine, do a lot of other people). Not being a believer in reincarnation or the possession of an "old soul" I don't accept those glib explanations - Gordon was lost for words, but I wish he had not come up with those ones on the spur of the moment. However it you watch the documentary "Ave Amira" you will see that her maternal grandfather sang operatic arias, so it seems likely that (as she said, in effect) her genetic heritage provided her with the requisite physiological apparatus - and Amira had the drive to learn how to use it by herself.
