I recently received my Classics 2019 DVD. The recording of Amira's performance of Sound of Music Medley is far superior on the DVD to that which is on KZbin (which is also great, thanks Gsacni). I am so glad that I made the purchase of the DVD from Gelukskinders, Amira's charitable foundation.

The DVD will be superior. Remember that the DVD format can not be copied straight onto KZbin. The file first has to be converted to one of the formats which KZbin will accept. The superior two formats for KZbin are mp4 and AVI, and this particular post was done with mp4, and although the quality is reasonable, one has to keep in mind that both the video and audio are compressed in the conversion process. The audio comes out as high quality mp3, which of course is a far cry from the DVD linear PCM format, which is uncompressed. Therefore these KZbin posts should always only serve as a teaser to persuade quality minded fans to either purchase the DVD, or to pay for the true HD quality online streams.

I love this medley. Amira not only sings songs that Julie Andrews did as one might expect, but one done by others in the movie & very well. And I particularly like her greater use of movement & gestures, a sign that she wants to more fully express the emotions & ideas in her songs. These songs really fit her voice & the expressed wish to come to a dramatic climax in her songs.

I actually had to listen to this a couple times to get the true appreciation, The 1st time I heard it I wasn't getting the full effect of amira As in some other songs, But I listen to it a second time and a 3rd time and it hit me it's as beautiful as any of her other songs, She is a beautiful person inside and out I would love to see her in concert
