Something new is to be seen here in Amira's chant-technique that is absolutely appropriate specially for this song: executing a soft phrase-finish by removing a bit the microphone from her lips. (She also does it in "Gabriella's Song", • Amira Willighagen - Ga... ) This singer's microphone technique she didn’t use so far, but for this song it is kind of crucial. It is wonderful to observe how she keeps on improving. On such an incredible level. Thank you for every song, Amira! And go on being yourself!

Well, SvendBosanvovski... "slightly flat". Surely, for my ears (practiced musician, and I heard & saw her live in concert) she sings in tune like an instrument - which is the special thing about her ever since she became famous. Ninety-nine percent impeccable intonation. But she sings slightly ahead in time - odd that nobody heard and noticed and commented this so far in this song/record. A bit laid-back, meaning some milliseconds behind in time here and there, would be better for this song. But that is wailing at a high level. She sings incredibly well; considering her age kinda unbelievably well. Oh, and Amira is THE singer without dubious theatricals in her stage appearence - a totally music-focused and humble body language on stage is actually her special authentic trade mark.

@@billybaldwin8918 IF you bothered to get the DVD from which this was taken, you would discover that all the artists at that concert use that type of microphone (super-cardioid) - which has to be held close to the mouth ( 1 ~ 2 cm) to function properly. This concert was in the Sun Arena in times square, Pretoria, which seats up to 9000; so microphones that have a high signal-to-noise ratio are essential for good recordings. But you're a traditional Opera man, after all - you can't be expected to know that. Yes, that does mean the levels are controlled by the sound desk, not by the performers.

She holds it this close because she is so reliant on the microphone for be heard at all. Any singer worth their salt should be able to project enough that the microphone can be held about 12 cm from the mouth. You should be able to at least see the singers face. And I am not sure why everyone compares her to opera singers. She just has no technique for opera.

From the very first moment that Amira walked out on to the stage on HGT at the age of nine, smiling and waving, you could tell that this was not about herself, but more importantly, and it may not have been what she knowingly intended at the time, but that this was about her wanting to make everyone under that roof feel good, including the judges. And it is well known that if she never got to sing again on HGT, that it wouldn't have mattered to her. That was her mission then and that continues to be her mission today, to give as much of herself in her presentation as she can during every performance, on the stage and it's even to be seen when she's off the stage in the work that she does for those children who are in need, and that may be her most important mission of all. This young lady stands tall amongst giants, with a beautiful heart and a beautiful voice, both of which continue to develop gracefully along with the rest of her being.

In the end, of course, it is mainly the m u s i c that does all this with us, the public.- Yes, on stage she is a priest with the talent to bring to our ears the melodies in an extraordinarily pure way - while in normal life just being a normal girl. That is probably the best thing about her: voice of gold, music devoted stage talent, heart of gold, and still - humbleness.
