I hope so too. I was pregnant at 18, but didn’t have insurance anymore because I wasn’t living with my parents and it had just expired. I had to wait before getting my insurance, & I also didn’t know I was pregnant so I didn’t get the best prenatal care that I could possibly get. Also, the dr I was seeing… she was nice, but I regret going to her. I wish I would’ve looked for better options.

My SFIL (stepfather-in-law) did something similar with my first pregnancy using a gold ring on a gold chain, only if the chain swung in a pendulum motion it was a boy and if it swung in a circle it was a girl. He’d done that with all the grandchildren in my husband’s family (my husband has an older brother and sister), and it had been accurate with all of them-until our older daughter. The chain had gone pendulum motion for her, and she turned out to be a girl. Fine by me-I knew it was just for fun anyway. Unfortunately he died five months before our younger daughter was born, so we never got the fun of doing that with her. I know he’s up there with Momma (she died eight years ago; our kids are 15 and 20 now), just busting a gut with pride over how our kids are doing.

My father hired an Amish community to help us build a barn and new chicken coupe when I was a teenager. They all came out on Saturdays to work and the women brought food . I remember a younger adult women sitting away from the rest and not eating . My girlfriend brought her a plate ( as a guy I was afraid to approach her)and that young women just seemed broken from the shunning . No idea why , but that small act of kindness impacted her . Either way I never had a problem with them but i will say their brand of religion is more hypocritical than most . Just my opinion
