The one commonality these bundlers share is that the user has to arrange the wood for the bundle. That shared "hurdle" is what will make or break the bundle. Spend the time to make it right or end up with a crappy bundle. I think you got a real nice machine and at a very good price.

Gregory, it’s interesting you put yours on a pallet. I put mine on a couple 2 x 6 and it’s the perfect height for me but the pallet idea is definitely more functional, may need to try that. Jake it was ironic watching your channel yesterday demoing the Hudson bundler. I checked into most of the manual bundles on the market and took a gamble on the Amish built one from MI. Gotta get me one of these bundle machines. Doesn't seem to matter what size the frame material is made of, is all in how it is put together. That's the philosophy I think Wolfe Ridge uses in building their splitters. Less steel in weight and is just as strong. Can't wait to see where your channel goes with tools, types of tools, etc. One of my channel sponsors sent me a few saw chains to use and do videos on. Once I get more time on it would be fun to do a saw chain video. Need to grt to understand other chains better too. And a way to do thst is watching tool and sales pros like you in how to do the presentation of the tools.

One summer I had paired up with a fellow to saw and sell wood. We just happened up on each other. He had a big lot full of tornado downed hardwood. I had tractors, a good splitter, other equipment. He had buyers , but no equipment. We shook hands ,n went to work. I couldn't get him to understand that people wanted 16-18 inch wood. Some he cut would be like 30". He started delivery, then the phone started ringing with pissed off husband's. I had to go resaw several loads of wood. I had a harsh conversation with him before I left to go resaw , and had been on his @$$ before about sawing so long. I had to load each customer's wood haul it to the back of their yard to resaw it to not get sawdust everywhere. When I got back to the wood lot , the idiot was still sawing 24" and longer. At that point I loaded canthooks , and other smaller tools such as cables , chains. After he left I came back and got my tractors, splitter , and everything else. He begged me for a couple of weeks to come back. The land owner finally took him to court. I didn't realize, but the idiot had burned up the land owner's two Stihl chainsaws lost all of his logging tools. I ended up making decent friends with the land owner and, we get together help each other out on different projects from time to time.

How much does a bundle usually weigh Tony???? Big box stores advertise 1 cup. foot but package always reads .655 cu. foot. 18 lbs... for 7.99. -8.99... Just got back from a 10 week trip bought over 70 bundles from Ohio to Yellowstone to Grand Canyon to Everglades and back to ohio.... All bundles were good campfire wood for sure.... just varied in size... Can't beat a good campfire!!

Wow Greg sounds like you had a really nice road trip. Yes I agree there is nothing like a campfire, it’s so mesmerizing! Regarding bundle weight, it’s hard to say. The 1cf bundles I make of ash wood weight between 20lbs and 30lbs and typically about 12 to 14 pcs. Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT

Still researching fire wood packaging . Would be interested about cost per bundle. Can't find a single video that answers this question. I wish Chris would have addressed it when he wrapped that cord of bundles while helping Ken. But he's Not big on stats and analytics. Any data would be helpful ( 30 cents maybe? 20 cents? 12 cents per bundle ? )

Jean if you check out SS Firewood Michelle she mentions being able to get 2 cords from one 1,500 sf roll of stretch wrap. There are many variables (i.e. cost of wrap, how many wraps on your bundle 3 or 4, how big are your bundles, 3/4cf or 1cf). I believe an estimated cost was between $0.08 and $0.15 per bundle. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT

Hi Tony just wanted to give you an update on the issue I have in ordering a bundler from Paul. Unfortunately I am still not getting the truth. Upon ordering the bindler on Sept. 5th I was told there where 2 lavailabke and it would be shipped out that week. A week later I was told more would be ready by Sept. 26th. On Sept. 26th I was told they still needed to be welded and painted. And now today Oct. 6th I'm still being given the run around. I understand things can be out of our control but I have obviously been misled and it is now starting to effect my business. Love tue channel but I would caution others about this issue. I will need to get my credit card company involved now to recieve a refund and order another product so that I may keep with promises I have made

This thing is super cool but you should seriously consider switching to Jute or Hemp twine instead of plastic wrap for several reasons. You're not adding plastic to the environment unnecessarily, jute/hemp twine makes a great fire starter, with practice you can make a handle with the twine and it's a whole lot less expensive.
@TonysCoolTools Жыл бұрын
Jerry glad you enjoyed the Video. I agree bailing twine would be the way to go. I haven’t found a quick and easy way to tie bundles together yet but I’ll be looking into it. Thanks for watching and commenting.👍TCT

You know the Hudson, Twister and John’s Welding manual bundler are awesome machines. I feel The Amish bundler is a very good value for the money. As I mentioned I like the fact that the Amish version is chain drive and takes less turns to wrap then the belt driven ones. Leave it to the Amish to have a better mouse trap😂. Thanks for watching and commenting. Appreciate your support.
@backwoodshomestead2 жыл бұрын
@@TonysCoolTools yes all those machines seem like good optiond but you can beat the amish $$$. we are planning to fabricate a wrapper similar to the amish one. we will definatly be going with the chain drive over the belt drive. seems more solid and if i can get less turns that would be great too. hahah when it comes to amish there is no school like the old school! i also purchased a pro sizer cause of the ones you showed. i will be reviewing it soon. take care tony!

Nice splitter Tony! My first 2 full cords of bundle firewood are not seasoned yet. I will bundle probably the way Chris' brother does for now. I need to see how it goes first. What's the price of this unit shipped?
@TonysCoolTools2 жыл бұрын
Steve that’s a great way to start. Chris’s brother Kenny has a nice system with the two square frames. And the process goes pretty fast. Thanks for watching and supporting my new channel. The unit I believe is $750 plus shipping which varies based on your location from MI. A guess for shipping would be $250 but you could call Paul at 616 206-5100.

@@TonysCoolTools Thank you Tony! After typing, my neighbor from across the street asked if he could buy some campfire wood, so I gave him about a wheel barrow load , and a Swedish Candle for $20! First firewood sale for me since 1986 I believe. I cut and sold 32 full cords 1985-1986 on my days off and spare time while working swing shift. That ended when I went to day shift. Now I am a couple years away from retirement and need something to keep me busy and in shape, so I am trying firewood again, at a slow pace at first. I know I won't be able to sell wood like Chris. I am thinking bundles will be better for my back, then gradually let it grow as health allows. Appreciate you and Chris' channels! Lots of good advice.

Is there a discount for Telling Paul we seen it on Tonys cool tools? What was the price?
@TonysCoolTools2 жыл бұрын
Terry this bundler is the least expensive in the industry to my knowledge so there are no additional discounts. The reason I ask people to let Paul know is to show him how social media can benefit the Amish owners business. Currently they only have a posting on Face Book Market Place. I know by me posting my video they have sold a bunch more. I believe the current cost is $769 plus shipping but Paul can advise you better. You will definitely love this bundler if you get one.
