Thanks a lot ! Videos are very helpful. I activated Microsoft Fabric trial license and also enabled it at tenant level.. However i donot see the Microsoft Fabric features showing up in the new Workspace created. Could you please help me on this.

Hope the workspace is a trail workspace. After you create first Lakehouse, it should show all features

Nice. so that means we don't use or have the concepts of dedicated SQL Pool which usually was very costly?
@AmitChandak8 ай бұрын
@sanishthomas2858 , here we have a capacity which can be used by multiple experiences like SQL/Spark/Power BI/Data factory etc. We can use multiple capacities as per need. Each workspace can have it own capacity. All workspace can use one capacity, if needed.

When you say lakehouse sql endpoint only supports reads does it mean we cant perform updates or inserts just like we could do in spark sql? Is this a drawback
@AmitChandak9 ай бұрын
On Lakehouse we can run Spark SQL, we can not run write using SQL end point SQL Managing Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse using Spark SQL: Data Manipulation Insert, Update, Delete, Alter #42: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqbRfJWwac52e8k

@@AmitChandak Thanks can you please make some more videos on Dataflows Gen2 . I guess Fabric has not addopted Mapping Data flows and Data Flows gen2 as an ETL looks pretty confusing and backdated compared to Mapping Data flow. A series of video on Dataflow Gen2 should help

I am a new subscriber. But you are a well known name to me. I have a couple of questions: What is the pricing for Fabric? My work involves ETL from OLAP (cubes) through SSIS packages on an On Prem SQL server and then connect PBI for reports development. Can Fabric replace this entire process? I have been asked to move my on prem SQL server to Azure now, do I need to set up a VM in Azure and shift my entire process on the Azure VM or leverage Fabric or set up ADF and Azure SQL server. Given the fact that I do not have any experience on Azure and will be a beginner, I would really appreciate any advice.

From on-premise you should be able to move data using latest on-premise gateway kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXapXp1-i9KpmtE You can also transform data using Dataflow gen 2 and SQL Incremental 2 -kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6SyepmKr892ibM Incremental 1- kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6Gpg6GQd72mrLM
